This kind of feels like that to me even though they’re not “my” team… they were OUR team.

Just wanted it for them and US so bad. Plus they were leading so much of the way….

(Oh and not to make it too personal but last one “out” as my bracket finally busted)

Very tough way to lose. Great season. With only one senior on the team, potentially another great season next year. I look forwarded to seeing you guys play in the American next season.

Watching that game took a lot out of me. I was rooting so hard for FAU, I am totally spent right now. I am having a hard time even having enough energy to watch the UConn game.

Lightning doesn't usually strike twice although it did for Butler.

Good run FAU. Seems you can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory just like my team. Tough loss, you had it in your grasp.

Was at the Final Four yesterday. Totally heartbroken for FAU, they had them but SDSU did some well coached things in the last minute, so you tip your cap. Everyone in the stadium (or at least the upper deck) was on their feet for SDSU's final possession, so it was one of the most dramatic moments in the history of the Final Four.

Depends if they can keep their coach after this.

You know May announced he's staying and signed an extension.

I mean they all do. That’s basically worth toilet paper. If a big school wanted him that wouldn’t stop anyone from leaving. All it means if the school stealing him would likely pay a higher buyout. Now that said I think FAU will be able to hold onto him this season just because no spots are really open and if he stays he can bring back that team. I wouldn’t be surprised if some schools put out some feelers though that haven’t currently fired their coach but would if they knew they could get May

I'd say they'd be jumping the gun. How do we know May is a great coach and that he didn't just assemble a great group of players? I think he needs to prove himself a few years before moving up.

There is nothing out there at the moment that is worth it for him to move. He’d be better off waiting a year and seeing what opens up next year. Something like Purdue.

Knew SDSU had another run left in them, but I didn’t think they would be able to overcome a 14-point second half deficit, so that was a bit surprising. Still one helluva season though, FAU! And I think you guys will be on a mission of unfinished business next year.

Goldin's performance perplexed me last night. Two such different halves. In the second half he managed to miss 4 free throws and two easy shots. Overall, he grabbed 6 (SIX!!!) offensive rebounds all by himself but 0 (ZERO!!!) defensive rebounds. How is that even possible? At first I had to double check that. I sort of figured he had 5-6 offensive ones but none on the defensive boards?

even beyond this run, he has proven to be a very good coach, i dont know about "great" but what he was doing at fau prior to this year by itself was note worthy

i noted last year, that dusty was good coach from any inspection... he took over a horrendous level program, and has never had a losing season in his 5 years..
before this year he had given fau their 2nd, 3rd and 4th best seasons in program history
.. he flipped the roster numerous times in that span..

context: fau has arguable some of the worst facilties in the nation (playing in a high school gym), zero fan support, and no recruiting ability...
he is picking up players than nobody wants and is winning with them...

imagine him with touted recruits... i wouldnt call him great yet, its easy to wander what he can do with resources

Same here. I may have watched two minutes of the UConn/Miami before I started watching Ted Lasso instead.

That's fickle. If you build it they will come. Very few want to see a losing program. He built a winner - people started showing up. There had been a series of sell outs near the end of the year.

FAU tremendous season shows that you can have a very good chance to win a bb championship without having a budget in the top 50. Pretty amazing. I wish they could have won it all but still impressive.
