Don't get too excited for Eagle Crest to open. The new building, addition to the clubhouse and construction are presenting issues that frighten me. If you have time, walk over and view the 18 to 12 cart path. It is freaking HORRIBLE!

RE: Monday Musings
Keyontae Johnson that some of us wanted to see transfer to EMU is now playing for Kansas State that will be playing Michigan State at MSG on Thursday. He had a terrific season.

Keep an eye on KSU's 5'7 PG Marquis Nowell who's returning home. His nickname in HS was "Mr.NYC." He was best friends with a player I coached who had just committed to Syracuse.

My son invited both to a Knicks game and my grandsons' couldn't get over that he was their size and was a HS bb star. There was also a disabled youngster there. Both HS bb players spent time speaking to him. Afterwards, both told me they were very profoundly touched by meeting him.

I attended one of Markquis work-outs and I've never seen such a hard-working dedicated player. A real gym rat. At age 16, he was magical with the ball as he dribbled flawlessly with either hand. I asked him who taught him to drive with his eyes always looking forward. He said no one did and that he had figured that out by himself.

He plays his position like a PG should and is light-years ahead of other current college PG's in how to play the position. . As he goes slow and under control to the hoop so he'll draw the big toward him so he can dish the ball off inside. Goes to the hoop hard when there's an opening. Noah should view his play.

In the first two NCAA tournament games, he's averaging over 20 ppg and more than 10-assists per game. Would not be at all surprised if he winds-up being selected in the NBA draft.

RE: Monday Musings
Nowell would be an answer to our PG problem.
