Thunderbirds beat Owls
The Southern Utah Thunderbirds of the WAC have defeated the Rice Owls 81-79 to advance in the CBI Tournament.

Rice finishes the season 19-16.

Speculation from 49r boards but we've never entered a pay-for-play post season tournament before. Wonder if Rice and us were encouraged to do so by AAC HQ?

Yeah ... What's up with that. I mean a city with ice rinks all over and H.S. hockey teams ... VS cities in the South with 2 or 3 hockey rinks and no H.S. hockey. They should swap NBA/NHL with Nashville. 03-idea
