What happens first
If the Nickel re-opens I'll be first in line.

RE: What happens first
The Nickel closed before I moved to Ypsi and I have been here a long time. I know the building was sold to a private investor in December, but any other news?

Hopefully the Nickel reopens! Any chance the Spaghetti Bender comes back?

Glory, one year I lived in the white house on Cross Street like 2-3 doors down from Theo's across the street from Boone. Talk about awesome! I watched the Sweet 16 game against UNC at the Bender...Rick Fox, Eric Montross, King Rice, Pete Chilcutt and company. Epic first half. Best time ever. We lost the reception for a period of time in the second half, I think they blew a fuse but the joint was rocking and even though we lost it was a celebration of that team. Lorenzo Neely, Kory Hallas, Marcus Kennedy, Carl Thomas, Charles Thomas. Never forget them.
Many, many great times at the Wooden Nickel too. Best time of our lives. It's all downhill after college. Nothing will ever top those days.

When did the spaghetti bender close? I don’t think it was around when I started ‘93. But my brother who is a few years ahead of me went to UM and he would talk about that place a lot- it was some kind of go-to place on Thursday nights or something?

This is very true! I never had that thought back then, only when looking back. What a great place Ypsi was too to have those experiences in.

You might have just missed it because it was alive and well in March '91 for the Sweet 16 game.
It was indeed the place to be Thursday night! Place got packed because no one had yet gone home for the weekend. My memories are pretty fuzzy but there was a big dance floor, lots of girls, and everyone seemed to have a great time.
