Curious why? They've certainly been successful this year.

Many feel that a lot of our recent hires have been lazy hires. Hiring people that they already knew. It’s hard to believe that the best person for the job in all of the country, is someone they already knew - basically they already had their mind made up and didn’t do a thorough search.

Well more than they just know each other…

-When Balado was hired, Louisville basketball was fresh off a great season (25-9 lost in the second round of NCAA tournament to Michigan). Alabama is on a helluva run this season.

-Balado was arguably number 2-3 under Pitino (Hodges, from what I have read, is viewed in same hierarchy positioning as well).

-Much like bama right now, Louisville was dealing with their own major off the court issues and controversy (Bama’s is obviously much worse than strippers).

-Both regarded as solid recruiters in their AC positions.

-Both never held major HC positions.

With all that said, a lot of other ACs could fall in the sams parrells as what has been laid out here. Ultimately, both the Astate basketball and athletic program is at an all time low and is in desperate need of a rejuvenation. I think alot of fans want a big name, home run hire just to feel some semblance of pride and hope for the program again).

I think Hodgson is a fine pick, but Im afraid some Astate fans are going to campaign against him as soon as he's hired. Losing has really warped a lot of fans perspective imo.
