Played for Jerry Wainright. Wainwright seems tight with the current staff. Shouldn't be hard to reach out and have a conversation.

The talent level jumped significantly from 1998 to 2003. Loved that 2000 team, but it was a bunch of overachievers and Blizzard.

Blizz wasn't really a highly touted recruit either. So, he could fall into that overachiever category too. He was obviously GREAT, but not many expected that coming in.

When any mid-major does very well in the tourny, it is because they have a bunch of overachievers on it's roster. Think all the way back to when David Robinson was at Navy. Sure, he was great, but they also had Vernon Butler & Doug Wojick (sp?). They were a wonderful compliment to "The Admiral."

Back then I definitely agree. Now, I think the fact that some mids kids stay together 4, 5 years helps with that chemistry. I think that's why there is more parity this year than ever because the extra covid year exacerbated that

I don't remember how many offers, or who offered, but we considered him a big get. Since he went to high school at Florida State, and worked out with the team, they thought they had him. The mistake they made was they asked him to walk on his first year so they could use the scholarship on another player. The rest is history.

I did hear that he was asked to walk on at FSU, But also heard he didn't have alot of other great offers. Maybe that's wrong? Who knows, glad he came to UNCW that's for sure!
