This is going to be interesting. Towson's big 3 (Timberlake, Holden, and Thompson)are all seniors and Holden has already played 5 years. Hofstra's Estrada and Thomas, the two guards who absolutely torched us in DC, are both Seniors with Estrada having already played for three different schools, I believe. I could see them both using their Covid year elsewhere, figuring what more can they give to Hofstra. Bolon, Larson, and Robinson III were all grad students for Charleston with Bolon having been in college SEVEN years. UNCW seems to be in really good shape since it appears that they do not lose anyone of significance.

A new coach with great energy could get us back on a good path real quick!!

I think Hofstra will be fine. They are pretty much the Transfer U of the CAA. Towson shouldn't really have a problem bringing in transfers also.

Listen to these quotes from Audige. If I didn't know that he was talking about Northwestern I would swear he was talking about William & Mary:

The article talks about how hard it has been to win at Northwestern. Down times finally turning around after four years. But if Audige feels that good about taking NW to their second NCAA appearance....then imagine how good he could have felt bringing W&M to its first NCAA appearance.

Weren't we big on Robbie Beran in high school too?

Yep, and I, always thought we could have locked him up before he exploded the summer his senior year, if Tony had offered in the fall his junior year. Hasn't put up big numbers in his career, but has been a consistent starter for them. Richmond kid, so, if he were to enter the portal for his additional year, would be a great get to bring home for family to see more games in person. May be tough to break up that trio from coming back together for their 5th eligible year. Interesting that Beran and Audige, both, got their degrees in Learning and Organization Change. Same major for Buie....hmmmm.

This time I believe that this has nothing to do with the players not getting along with each other but everything to do with (a) growing weary of losing and (b) having a coaching staff with absolutely no plan whatsoever to get us back on the winning path TODAY!!! We did not have bad personnel this year. Bad personnel could not have beaten Towson at home with two starters injured, nor could bad personnel have beaten UNCW on the road. What we had was very bad coaching for the 4th "Year One".

There is no confusion this year. the players played hard every game. Losing good players that you want to retain falls squarely in the lap of Dane. I am glad that the guys went into the portal now rather than responding to a coaching change so that there is no doubt why they want to leave.

I'm in favor of a new coach, but I don't think that seniors graduating and entering the portal is significant. Having any of the non-graduating recruits enter would be significant, and having transfers go back in the portal would be even more so.

Edit: adding this... Karasinski, Williams, Rice, or Milkereit entering the portal is damning. If Lowe enters, I don't think it's a big deal given his usage this year. That is, I'd expect a player who had a season like Lowe to enter the portal from any school. I don't think it would be an indictment of the coaches here.

Yeah, let’s not overreact. There are plenty of datapoints suggesting Dane isn’t good for this role and we need to move on from him. But seniors who are graduating from W&M choosing to transfer somewhere else for their final year of eligibility is standard. Happens everywhere.
