We need more consistency from refs, but otherwise things seem on a good trajectory.

Southern Miss and the refs again, lol.

Ehh I don't think anyone was happy with the refs this year. The only consistency was that they were consistently bad lol

Ehh, It’s Sun Belt BB, no one is ever happy with the refs. . . . every year. It’s the Number One thing you can count on each and every BB season.

Oh, and don’t tell Noodles, but the refs weren’t out to get Southern Miss.
They were out to get Him.

The Coloradian paper quotes the CBI as running about $75,000 a game. With the CIT costing only $30,000 plus paying travel expenses it's certainly the way to go.

We played in the CIT a few times, but when we got a new AD, he was emphatic by saying we would only play in the NCAA or the NIT.

I'll be surprised if Troy plays in the CBI or Basketball Classic... we have been short on depth most of the season with only two bench players available. I'd imagine they're worn down also. Injuries killed our season.

The "CIT" no longer exists, it's basically been replaced by The Baseball Classic. TBC has changed the model so its no longer "pay to play", but they simply keep the gate for the game - so they will naturally play the game wherever they get maximum attendance.

Nobody in any sport in any conference in any league is happy with refs.

RE: Predict Men's Basketball Postseason Destinations
I've seen predictions of Marshall in the CBI in Daytona. I could see this as a way to give Taevion Kinsey the chance to break the SBC scoring record. He needs less 40 to break the record, so I could see MU doing like they did with Jon Elmore a few years ago.

RE: Predict Men's Basketball Postseason Destinations
Yeah I predicted this when I started the thread, it only makes sense to shoot for the CBI.

I understand a lot of fans are against it, but we have to realize that's our league, we're not an NCAA multi bid, or even an auto bid NIT type yet. In order to get to that point, we are going to have to perform and win these types of tournaments consistently.

RE: Predict Men's Basketball Postseason Destinations
As noted JMU will only play in NIT and obviously that is a long shot. From what I understand all teams that want to be considered for NIT do have to put a bid in as part of the process (for hosting purposes). My understanding is that it gets down to nitty gritty if the choice is between a few teams that the higher bid will win out even if they are not hosting since they could host later with upsets. It is my understanding that JMU would be putting a bid into play in NIT, however unlikely.

He cannot break the SBC scoring record as he only played in the league for one year. The league will not recognize that.

App State running back Cox ran for over 5,000 yards. Tyrell Fenroy of Louisiana is recognized as the all time leader with 4646 for the same reason.

Rumor is the NIT wants to invite South Alabama to play so they can match up with USM and ruin their season one more time.

Yes this is a joke and I do realize USA will not be in the NIT.

The SEC has to be happy with their refs in OOC games.

RE: Predict Men's Basketball Postseason Destinations
Several posters on a Marshall message board are stating that Dan told them at BB practice that MU will only go to the NIT and not participate in the "play for pay" gigs. I wonder if he was told my by MU officials no "play for pay" tournaments for MU this year?
