After watching a lot basketball on TV, this year, I did see many white basketball players. I take nothing away from black basketball players, as they are at a higher level of play. I did notice that 1st and 2nd all sunbelt team, had 4 or 5 white players. I do enjoy the games regardless of color, but ODU has not recruited a great white player, since the late 90's. Jeff Capel (a black coach) recruited Mark Poag a white guard from Tennessee, and he turned out to be a great 3 pt shooter and starter. The question is when will ODU do it again. Even JMU got a transfer from VMI and he made all sun-belt. It seems all we see is a token white kid, to be used in practice.

I really don’t care what color the players are, if they’re good. But, for what it’s worth, that Loughton kid was pretty good and pretty white.

Most definitely. I don’t care what race an athlete it is. I want the best regardless of ethnicity. But I have happened to notice that sometimes the really hard teams to beat just happen to have a good white boy on the roster lol

We were actually super close to landing one very recently but another commit took the spot before he could commit.

Yeah Alex Loughton was a stud and Valdus Vasilyus was pretty damn good too. But it has been a while…

Get the point being made, don't care for the thread name though. ( yes i am a black man ) Lol Race doesn't equate skill to me.
