I looked at the stats long before this post. If you worship analytics, one might wonder how we actually won any games at all. I will say one thing, if Murphy's teams shot free throws that well, he might still be our coach. LOL.

As I have been saying, most believe Emoni got a ton of NIL at Memphis and when he didn't prove to be the "Memphis Messiah" they turned on him.

I still believe any statement about NIL through EMU boosters or whatever is highly conjectural. I'm not saying "No" but I'll bet dollars to donuts if we say a number in print, it is probably wrong. This kind of stuff is almost always wrong.

To use the terms used in national security, etc. "Medium confidence" for Memphis. "Low confidence" for EMU. Unless there is FOIA. You would know that stuff, I believe, I wouldn't believe anything about a dollar amount for EMU at EMU.

The big story isn't how much Emoni may have gotten through his time as a student-athlete at EMU, who cares, as we have said elsewhere it is someone elses donation and not EMU money. I could give Emoni $ to promote something (not sure what) but it would be my money, not EMU's.

I think the bigger issue is that some EMU fans turned on Emoni when, like at Memphis, he didn't lead us to the promised land.

Fans can exult a player to the mountain top one day and crucify them on forums when they don't lead their team to the athletic promised land.

That is the worst thing about fans.

Probably the wrong place for this, but I believe Jalen Duran's presence at our game was as much about Emoni as anything. Why?

There were stories out of Memphis about a big divide between the upper classmen and lower classmen. Emoni and Duran were in the latter.

Why? I wasn't there. I don't know. Might there be resentment that a senior may not have $20 in his wallet but Emoni was 'rich.'

So Steve are you saying that Bates didn't receive any NIL money at all for signing at EMU? Or is that just speculation on YOUR part? It seems like sheer hypocrisy for you to post endless posts filled with your speculation on this board and then criticize others. But also remember folks that put IF or if rumors are true are identifying their posts as speculation not facts or quoting other sources. The sports world goes around and around with speculation and rumors. Without sports writers and sports channels would be out of business. I could care less whether he got NIL money or not. I do care about the results for this train wreck of a team with the number 4 ranked transfer class by 247.

Think I'm clear about Emoni and EMU and NIL: I DON'T KNOW. I'm not speculating about it. IDK is the opposite of speculating.

How can you say I'm speculating about what Emoni may or may not have gotten while at EMU when I said IDK. IDK doesn't mean he did or didn't get NIL. I haven't seen a good sourced article or Tweet with firm information as to Emoni and EMU.

That is a theme of my posts. Others are speculating about it; I'm of the IDK school.

Ditto Covid. Some studies with low conference suggest animals, others lab, and other inconclusive. ALL are LOW CONFIDENCE. So 8 - 10 studies, all low confidence = low confidence and the IDK.
