No need for detailed writeups any longer, we know who the players are and what they can do. Hofstra just destroyed the Tribe 94-46. They made 13-19 shots from three and 59% from the field for the game. If they get hot, they can flat out score.
I just rewatched a much closer matchup Hofstra had at Stonybrook where they won but the score was 68-65. In that game Hofstra shot 38.9% from the field and were 5-24 from three. They had only 24 points in the paint. Rebounding was about the same and TO's for both teams was about 10 each.
Contrast that to the UNCW game where we had 16 TO's, allowed Hofstra to shoot 52.7% from the field and we gave up 36 points in the paint. We also shot only 40% for the game and only 31.6% in the second half where we only scored 16 points. Kelly fouled out having played only 15 minutes with 6 points, 4 turnovers and 3 rebounds. White had 3 points in 28 minutes of play on 1-6 shooting and 3 trunovers.
I just don't see us playing that badly again. Kelly seems to have figured out how to limit his fouls and White is back to his normal game attacking the basket and finishing. This really seems like another game where Ross will make a huge difference and Farrar can get us buckets to keep the game close.
Not sure who wins, but if Hofstra shoots over 50% for the game I don't see how we win. So, my prediction.

Well, your prediction worked yesterday....so there you go.
This is going to be a tough one....but since there is no tomorrow, everyone (on UNCW's team ) knows that it's win or go home. Hofstra has the NIT bid locked down, but a 23 win Seahawk team needs to win. So I don't think our guys are going to lay down on this one under any circumstances.
It will be interesting t o see the starting lineup....

I knew then that Hofstra had a game on their hands. He really must have expected our guys to punk out when we fell behind, and when they didn't he was rattled.
You also have to question his judgement in the semi-final game by his not resting his starters more. It's like he was looking for a 'statement' win (which really meant nothing, given they had the NIT autobid already and that they were not a candidate for an NCAA at-large) rather than to survive and advance. All the players looked somewhat gassed to me at end of the game, but theirs hit the wall earlier.

Hofstra's coaches and players have changed over the years, but the program philosophy has remained the same: Play their main 6 guys heavy minutes. It comes back to bite them in so many tournament settings but they stubbornly stick to it.
