yes, it is … as much as I love our ability to schedule quality OOC in baseball, we also won’t see a drop-off once conference play begins…

Play at Ole Miss Tuesday night hopefully no tarp issues. Our record is currently 8-3.

Just another sweep of a CUSA team.

I went over to the CUSA message board to see what they had posted about our sweep over DBU and they had no baseball posts yesterday and only 2 today in their ongoing season thread.

clt says that’s sad

But gdunn says if 10 people show up to a Charlotte event, is it a sporting event or a Good Charlotte concert?

16-3? That’s gotta be a softball record, right? Congrats on the good start btw.

Data is still a little noisy at about 20% of the season done, but trends are starting to form.

RE: SBC Baseball March 3-5
The entire conference slate is going to be a dogfight.

I'm just glad that the national metrics seem to be giving the Sun Belt the credit it deserves. As recently as a few years ago, this was a league with at least three regional-caliber teams, but was only getting the autobid.

Not only are our new friends bringing plenty of extra talent to the party, but most reputable national outlets now have the SBC as a top-5 conference at worst.

I get that there are better conferences and worse conferences and that SoS is something that should be taken into account, but I was getting pretty sick and tired of seeing 35+ win Sun Belt teams not even being considered as fringe candidates for at-large bids while 95% of the SEC and ACC had 1.5 feet in the door of a regional bid on opening night of the season.

They'll still snub you. ODU last year:

41-17
3rd place in the 5th best (RPI) conference.
RPI - 46
8-7 Q-1, 11-8 Q2, 3-0 Q3, 19-2 Q4

Gotta finish in the Top 30 range of RPI to feel good about getting an At Large.
