The CMU game is yet again on a weekday in November. Only 2 Saturday home games. Even the season opener is a missed opportunity. It's a home game vs. an FCS school. Haven't seen that in a long time. But they put it on a Thursday (for TV I'm sure).

Why does the MAC hate its fans? Attendance will continue to decline if we keep making these "TV friendly" schedules. And our fierce rivalry is dying off because it hasn't been invested in. It can't just be on a Tuesday or Wednesday every year. Central-Western weekend was huge back in the day. It was a whole WEEKEND of events and partying and fun. Now nobody gives a $hit.

It's just so disappointing. You're never going to grow a fanbase with this crap.

I have a feeling this will be a rough year, kinda like PJ first year.

I dont see us winning more than 1-2 games on that schedule.

Going to be a long year. I thought for sure we would play @Akron.

Why does Ohio and Eastern get two prime home games just before November, while the rest of the league has their rivalry games in the next two week nights? Seems interesting.

Serious. With streaming these days, it's just not that big of a deal to be on t.v. anymore.

Last year's game wasn't even on tv, it was streamed on ESPNU

I've begrudgingly accepted midweek MACtion.

But there's no reason why they can't reserve the MAC's four rivalries (WMU-CMU, Kent-Akron, UT-BG, Ohio-Miami) as Saturdays. Shoot, put it all on the last Saturday of October so it's an annual Rivalry Weekend tradition.

As far as our potential record... who knows, maybe Taylor will surprise us. Cubit and Darnell exceeded expectations on their first seasons. But odds are we need to prepare ourselves to watch our basketball and football teams bottoming out around the same time.

And three P5 road trips couldn't have happened at a worse time. None of them are top tier blue-bloods, but all those games could still get ugly quickly.

Serious. With streaming these days, it's just not that big of a deal to be on t.v. anymore.

I can't really agree with this completely. Streaming appeals to those who really want to watch a particular game that is not on broadcast TV. If on the ESPN platform, such as ESPN+, it is not free. Very few will go on a streaming platform and see WMU playing and choose to watch. They likely went there because another game (maybe their team) is playing. However, on TV, they might see we are on and decide to watch or record to watch later.

I want to see these MAC midweek games end or the league pass a rule that no team should have to play more than one a season. Face it guys, our attendance and gate receipts are not so large that our leadership STILL feels it is worth it to stick it to the fans that actually show up for games to watch in person.

13,000 in the stands for Central Michigan while ESPN talks about the College Football Playoff on a November weeknight (while a MAC football game plays in the background) has to be doing wonders for WMU.

ESPNU is a cable channel, not streaming.

EMU played Kent state on the same night on ESPN2 and more than doubled the viewership than WMU CMU which was on ESPNU (in a snow bowl)
