Sun Belt Tournament Preview--The First Round
Play by play guy needs to stop screaming. The volume spike coming from it is really bad.

Ok, this arena in Pensacola has only one court surrounded by seating on all sides.

What kind of freak arrangement does this conference have for its tournament?

It looks like a multi-purpose arena. They have monster trucks coming in May.

They put the curtain up after the first round, I guess.

We can't all play our tournaments in the Cowboys Practice Facility...only one league is that special.

AState wins 86-69 and advances to play Troy on Thursday.

I have a question, if the loser of this game gets an early head start on firing their coach, is their really a winner?

Yeah I certainly didn't expect this to be an 11/14 game after last year. I hope both are able to bounce back quickly. Nice to see some positive surprises like Southern Miss, but throw in strong performance from teams we expected it from and basketball should continue to rise!

Our Administration is so dumb, I could see Balado getting an extension out of this.

So, when do you DOOKIES play?

BTW, are you a Clown by nature? Or is it something you actively work at?

. . . asking . . . for a friend.

RE: Sun Belt Tournament Preview--The First Round
I was really impressed by the coaches in the league this season. I think my favorite is the guy at Texas St. I'm terrible at names; forgive me. He's a winner. Didn't think the Ark St. coach was bad, just outmanned. He did have bad body language it seemed.
Jones at ODU is always hard to beat. Marlin(?) at UL rubs me the wrong way, but he coaches his tail off.
Marshall should be happy with D'Antoni.
Ga Southern guy was passionate, if a tad aggressive, and seems legit.
USA's coach clearly has worked some magic as the season progressed. ULM won games without a bench. Kudos.
We didn't play Coastal, and I only saw a couple games, so that's a question mark. Ga St., I think it's too soon to say.
Troy is a handful. I can't see wanting the coach replaced.
JMU is as good as anyone in the league, and are clearly well-coached.
App St. seems to be 1 player from the top of the league. Just a little more offense needed.
It's been fun.

For all of his faults (which are several), Jeff Jones is a first-rate in-game coach. Yet he was handed his lunch in both games by JMU's Byington.

I can only comment on the games that I watched, listened to or attended. But from my limited perch, Byington should have been Coach of the Year.
