No, that would be the UTSA Bird Bath. The card table setup is pictured.

Averaging over 4,500/game is very impressive. I had no idea that many people were going to college baseball games.

With Marshall building a new stadium, I would love to see us at least be competitive and eventually average 500-1,000 per game.

Better than them CLT numbers.. I think they had 10 fans for those 3 games.

If we put together one soccer type season in baseball, this town will support the hell out of it. I don't mean a natty, just a good squad that makes a regional, and has a real campus stadium. And the SBC has the clout to get anyone there if they have a good year in conference. There's no dropoff for playing conference games.

JMU back in 1983. First school from Virginia to make it.

Sunbelt Teams that have been to CWS are

JMU
Ga. Southern
Louisiana
Southern Miss
Coastal Carolina won it all!

Really surprised USA has never been. They've had a good bit of regional success.

USA has been to the most regionals without a trip to Omaha in the nation I believe.

no 'bout adout' it ... toss in late winter/early spring weather in south 'sip, and an afternoon/evening at the Pete is a party to be had...

the first thingy I realized when we moved here in '74 was baseball in the 'burg was Yuge ... as an StL Cards lifer and player up until college, it couldn't have worked out any better...

I was in your former neck-o'-the-woods (St. Looie) about 2 months ago...crossed the Eads Bridge, ate St. Louis pizza and butter cake, and had a great view of the Mis'sippi Ribber from my hotel room. (oh yeah, saw Busch stadium---neat)

I think the USA record is most times being only one win away from the CWS without going. I think ECU might now own the other record. I will say there was at least a couple times where USA was the #1 seed but not allowed to host and got shipped off to places like Notre Dame or Clemson which was complete horse crap.

What is this concept of “selling” tickets to college baseball games? It’s foreign to JMU’s AD where all JMU baseball games are free. Sadly, you get what you pay for at JMU baseball games. 03-weeping

Watched a bit of ODU’s game yesterday on ESPN+, and even ODU was advertising season baseball tickets for $50, which bought you a seat for all ODU home games.

In the meantime, watched JMU drop their second game on the road to Florida State, playing in front of a very large crowd of FSU fans. JMU’s AD ain’t dumb, but he’s been asleep at the wheel when it comes to college baseball.

SRO season tickets are only $190 each. Actual seat prices don't matter because they are taken and have waiting lists (as do Roost spots). That's still a great deal for 30+ games a season, especially as good as we've been.

They should just sit tight for now and take over Truist Park when the Braves move again in a couple years.
