I thought the same thing in regards to Akron offering. Although, after watching his film, I suspect it’s due to Kamara being a “tweener” type. He may grow into a linebacker as he’s more suited to playing in the box than in coverage. Certainly a great athlete.

Thanks for posting NC
Good comments Coach.
I'm sure UT sees him as a "Will" with 20 plus pounds and 2 years in system. UT is a developmental program with some FR bursting into immediate PT but UT is built around development. His highlight video seems to show him as a Will or SS that aggressively supports the run. His highlight film does not show him in coverage even though he lists himself as a SS. He seems like a great athlete with great length and size. This kid has a huge upside. Reminds me of Trent Voss' build. We would surely take another great like TV. I just hope he realizes success at UT in all forms.
Welcome!
Go Rockets!

Lots of MAC offers, plus a recent one from Indiana along with Army, Air Force and Dartmouth. One T and one G.
Players committing early is good especially if they believe UT will fill slots if they don't commit quickly. Good sign. Healthy program.
Keep 'em coming.

Thanks NC
This is good news. Two O lineman in first 7 recruits. Five last year to back-fill and 2 very solid recruits to start '24. Hopefully we take at least 4 in '24 cycle. Matt and Jacob both have great size, well coached, and tough.

Another one not too far from me - about 5 miles.
Just a follow up - maybe he can bring a teammate with him the following year. Stoney Creek has another OL that is 6-5, 270 and will be a junior in the 2023 season. I heard he is looking at a higher level P5 school. Seems to be more athletic from some video I saw, but still depends on how he develops. I would have to believe Toledo has had some contact. I guess we'll see as he hits the various rating groups this coming season. It's also the high school that Eric Fisher came from (6-7. 315 CMU and 1st rd. draft choice). They have a lot of big dudes on their roster, but have not had very good results the past couple of years. HS enrollment of just under 1,600.

Winning the MAC and the bowl game in 2022 has probably helped this year’s recruiting. Maybe it’s me but it looks like we’re on a roll.

I was thinking same thing.
Toledo has a great opportunity in 2023 to break out and build on it in a big way.
This is a talented deep team. Recruiting will follow.
All good athletes so far for 2024.

Speaking of Beard, the Rockets have still not named a new WR coach, as far as I know.
I also see that Terry Swanson has taken a new job as RB coach at DII Pittsburg State (KS). Some may remember that former Rocket OC, Brian Wright is the head coach there.

Verbal commitment from WR Landen Delich.
6'3 WR from Crown Point, IN.
Appears that Toledo was his 1st and only offer, although had visits to several other MAC schools. Interestingly, from his twitter, it was Kevin Beard that recruited him. He still commits, even with Beard now gone.

Diamond in the rough? He must have had a good workout in front of coaches at some point for Toledo to give up one of 20-25 precious scholarships. Great size and damn good speed.

I seem to remember someone named Cody Thompson that did pretty well for Toledo. Has anyone ever seen a blocked punt returned for a TD as smooth as one Cody had.

The momentum is real. Toledo landed consensus 3 star prospect CB Zachary Rogers.
Hudl film should already be attached to his prospect profile.

Likely he will play S at UT. His commitment tweet is to Russ Watson (S coach) and Kehres. He may get a look at both WR & S. He plays both positions well. We likely will not know until signing day which position UT sees him playing. Most likely S based on tweet.
Go Rockets!
