Student tickets are being limited to just 200 per game and it was also announced that high school coaches' passes won't be honored this year due to the high demand of season ticket sales. We maxed out last year around 5400 for our 2 super regional games but that left little room to move around in the standing room only area down and around the right field line so my guess would be capping attendance around 5k-5.2k per game. Interested to see if we can break 15k attendance on the weekend as our 3 game weekend record is 14,906 back in 2018.

That’s some super quality attendance. We have an expansion project coming up along first base like that I think will raise capacity from 2500-3000-3500…. Hoping we can do more in the future to get to at least 4500 so there will be less of an excuse to not les San Marcos host a regional

Most of our seating is Standing Room Only. Bring your own chairs. We desperately need to add more grandstands. Right now demand is high anyway, but with a bad season that will drop some (not a ton, as we have a solid Baseball fanbase) and I think more people would buy season tickets during a slump if they had reserved seats. I think we plan to use the season ticket money plus capitol campaign money for expansion of seating and other upgrades to The Pete, but nothing has been revealed yet.

I really don't like the idea of expansion. I would not do anything with seating until you tear down the grandstands and rebuild. The grandstands are, what, close to 40 years old at this point?

The attendance and atmosphere are great. The actual stadium structure is way behind the times, though.

yep ... it's a sin not having 100% chairback seating at the Yurt and the Pete at this point...

You add additional actual seats. Sell those at a premium. Use that money to update/replace the current grandstands.

It should be an exciting weekend as some Sun Belt schools usher in the start of the baseball season except that is may be rainy and cold in some stadiums.

So our Friday starter last year Tyler Tuthill is out for the season. He essentially pitched all last season with a torn UCL, then had Tommy John surgery. He's expected back in 2024.

Weekend rotation includes two transfers, one from ECU, another from JuCo (originally UNC).

Did he get the surgery right after last season? I thought the recovery from that was greatly reduced now?

He had the surgery in late July. Recovery timeline is still a year for baseball pitchers, although you get full range of motion back relatively quickly.

While reduced, you got to remember that baseball season ended in June. That was 8 months ago. No one returns from TJ that fast.

Maybe its subject to change but as far as i can tell, only our sun belt home games will be on ESPN+. I assume most away games in conference will be on ESPN+ and same with away OOC. Being that from this weekend to march 7th we only travel once, its very disappointing for our fans who don't live close.(me included) Plus we have a lot of players who aren't local. Their families now can't watch their kids play for a good month almost.

Can't believe I'm saying this but i was able to see almost every series on CUSA.tv Our AD dropped the ball on this. I want to know his reasoning outside of money because that's a bull**** reason to me.

League redid the broadcasting agreement to require all conference baseball games to appear on at least ESPN+, but I am not sure if that has kicked in yet.

Most series though should be on the network. Many teams don't release that info until late.

One thing I admire about the Sun Belt and am jealous of when compared to the American is your love of baseball and excitement for the season!

We are the king of the hill in the AAC, and nobody else gets excited about it.

Omaha in '23! Hope to see some of y'all there! 04-cheers

My friend, that's because you're in the wrong conference.
