The sun is out bright here in the Greater Ypsilanti area. The men's team continues to improve everywhere but their record and EMU will begin lacrosse on Thursday outside off Huron River Drive.
Will be following the baseball story closely does not make sense to drop the program as the field is a money maker and busy all summer long. Thought dropping softball was dumb as well.
Football coaches get a 2 week break maybe before spring ball?
Congrats Andrew Wylie on winning another super bowl.
Will be interested to see where the USFL team practice all year whether its our bubble lincolns building or country days.

I'll pick up on only your last point:

I don't have a clue how the USFL will handle off seasons. W/out trying to sound snarky, none of these Spring leagues this century have made it to Year 2. Correct?

Assuming the league does well (it has major networks behind it), do they treat players as 6 month employees or de facto 12 month employees ala NFL? And if they treat them as 12-month employees do their salaries double or triple?

Totally speculating, but he was probably getting brutalized by the cyber freaks for his 2/17 shooting night against Toledo. Total guess. If correct though, he might bring it back up after a while when the comments clear up. Think he has had to do it before…. I feel bad for the kid….

Not real sure about this one, but the computer and internet have changed the world for sure. Any program can be tainted by the actions of a lone wolf.

The Ann Arbor News had a premier sports reporter and author. He had a problem with viewing child porn and was understandably fired. He moved on to other papers, but his problem did not. He ended up spending time in prison as a result.

I knew the man and his family. He was a great guy and a fabulous father, but he did have a problem. I still see and visit with him often in the fall. Why? He is a rabid fan and season ticket holder to EMU football. Basically, a good man with a serious problem.

I really hate his contract and many of his in-game decisions that have led to the 0-6 overtime record and many close losses.

BUT he pierced the bubble last year we all wanted him to. Glad he is our coach.

Not Sunny for Bally Sports. I assume they will file Chapter 11 and continue on... I don't see any real effect on EMU unless it is in some tangent way which is not obvious (e.g., if they do less MI h.s. FB games that may effect Rob's Friday night work where he has conflicts, e.g., Howard game Sept 1 or travel, doing a Friday night H.S. game while EMU goes to Arizona for a Saturday game.

Sports are by nature highly competitive and trash talking is now widely tolerated. The days of having a common area from locker room to playing surface need to be over.

As bad as the MSU-UM football incident was, I considered Michigan's outrage about it comical. They had a problem Penn State just the week before with their common entrance and exit tunnel to the playing field.

We'll see. I have no hard and fast opinion. I have no idea how the NBA will look at Edey of Purdue.

Bottom line: UofM may have three NBA-caliber players and aren't exactly tearing up the B1G.

Is there a lesson here? Build a team, not a NBA farm team?
