Uc moves into the top 60 kenpom. Since December 1 they are more top 25 according to Barrtorvik (15th in adjusted defensive efficiency). It's a shame they don't get more chances against good teams in this conference. They are playing damn good basketball.

RE: Tulsa Game Thread
I didn't realize how bad Tulsa is. Jeez. Haith seemed to always have them near the tournament. I guess he left them in bad shape?
Takeaways for UC, I thought the D played well and guys played hard. Got up on man and good rotations.
Nolley looked pretty well healed from whatever happened at Houston. He should really try for a triple double one of these games against overmatched teams.
Davenport continues to really work on the glass and on D, and he still loves to shoot.
Skillings gave some good minutes. He actually hit a 3. His follow thru looks strange, tho. I'm concerned.
Ezikpe was hustling. Phinisee was too, but the poor guy is a mess on O. And Ody, bless him, he can't make a close one, had trouble catching some good but tough passes, and kept getting called for cheap fouls while playing solid D.
DDJ was quiet but looked to get others involved. Vik too was in the background, yet he still almost had a double double.
Reed got walkon garbage time. No Hensley or Tolentino up 20 against a bad team.
All in all, a slow start turned into a pretty fun if meaningless win. Big one this weekend against UCF.

RE: Tulsa Game Thread
To me, the start was so disappointing. I guess I keep expecting UC at home to come out and just pound a team this bad in the first 5-10 minutes and then slowly build the lead. On the other hand, when it was all said and done last night it was a very solid victory and I was impressed with UC's ability to hold the lead at about 20 points, even with numerous substitutions.
If this Bearcat team plays well against better competition such as Houston, I guess that bodes well because it will require their "A" game every night in the Big 12. But I can't imagine recruits won't be lining up to be playing Kansas, Baylor, West Virginia and the whole gang of twelve on a nightly basis @ Fifth Third.

They were just missing a ton of shots early that they normally hit but I didn't think they were playing poorly early. There were times the energy dropped which I think is to be expected coming off an emotional loss and playing the worst team in the league but overall they did what they were supposed to do.
You bring up the lineup for next year and when I was sitting in the stands last night I couldn't help but think how nice it's going to be not watching an awful opponent in a February home game. It was just one of the least exciting home environments I've been to and appreciate this is the last year for this. It's scary knowing that we'd be one of the bottom 3 teams this year but Wes has done a pretty good job upgrading the talent quickly and I'm sure the caliber of transfer he'll get playing a B12 schedule is going to be there next year. It's going to need to be considering we're losing our top 2 scorers likely.
