Will be the OC AND PLAY CALLER!! I've been calling for this since 2015, thought he should have been named HC over Whitten. He did serve as the Co-HC briefly. Tell you what, Tarleton Football is about to go next level. New QB transferred in from Starksville as well, played 2 years under Leach. MM has been with Leach just about everywhere he's gone. Purest of Air Raid Disciples. Exciting times, for sure! Welcome home, Coach!!

Whitten giving up play calling is a BIG deal, and you know it wasn't easy for him to do! His offense is simple, yet effective, but very predictable. Most of our problems last year came from the play of the QB. Guys were open, he just couldnt see/find them. Our new QB has been operating the Air Raid his whole life, and MM knows how to use his cannon arm to spread it all over the field to our extremely talented WRs. One thing is for sure: it WILL be fun to watch! Whitten stepping back to focus on being the QB whisperer he is and "CEO" of the team is a great move. Great news. Whitten is a great HC and can focus on the operations and recruiting now. I am finally excited about where the football program is heading. We were good, but relinquishing the play calling to a very capable OC is going to pay huge dividends for the program.
