UC @ Houston
I'll get it started. Mission Improbable today but worth watching. I actually expect UC to be competitive in this one and will be disappointed if they aren't.

If Temple can go to Houston and win, why not UC? Huge opportunity to get back on the map in the world of college basketball and impress some potential future Bearcats.

UC 70, Houston 69 (Hope springs eternal until the final buzzer)

RE: UC @ Houston
Yeah, it gives me no pleasure at all in writing this, but I expect the predictable a$$ beating today. All I know is what I see.

Within the first ten minutes, we'll be down by 12-15 points reaching 20 points at some point in the game. Houston will doze off for a few minutes and we will make a few stat padding 3's.

At the end, Houston will finish the deal. Houston 72 UC 56

I would be as happy as anyone to see me proven dead wrong.

Keep it under -20 differential and I'll be happy.

Houston is the real deal.

Was trying to think of the last time UC won as a significant underdog. I guess probably Illinois last year. Before that? Wichita St. in the conference tourney in 2021? We beat a ranked Tennessee at home Brannen's first year, but I don't recall if we were favored or not? Houston in the conference tourney Mick's last year? I would guess UC is below average when it comes to winning as an underdog, but I don't know.

Houston away is a tough ask. I'd like to see them play with some urgency at the very least

RE: UC @ Houston
I don't think they can win this game without jd breaking out of his slump. Houston is going to be all over ddj and nolley. Uc desperately needs someone else to hit shots
They gave jd great looks last time because of how hard they came at ddj while shading to landers. He bricked everything. I suspect they won't be changing that up.

Keys for me

1. Don't get killed on the boards. they were exceptional in this area last time against Houston. I doubt they repeat that but they need to hold their own.

2. No turnovers into runout. This is where they lost the game last time. They can't let Houston's length and aggressiveness get them again.

3. Use vik rolling to the rim effectively. Vik made them pay last time off this. They start a freshman center. They are aggressive up top. Vik should get chances.

4. Jd/maw hit open shots. They'll get some good looks. We need them to fall.

Its much too nice of a day here to stay inside and watch UC get slaughtered. I'll give it a chance but when it goes south it'll be time to go take a walk. Hopefully it won't be that bad.

Getting Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel on the call today when the team isn't great is wonderful.

Nice start. Ody has to stop roberts from getting to that lefty hook but everyone is defending and our two best outside guys hit their looks so far.

How many shots has Houston had to throw up as the shot clock was running out? Impressive D

RE: UC @ Houston
Wish ddj just hit the midrange there. Reed was wide open and has hit it this year. But freshman in this game.
