That would be a long road trip. But I love watching games in other’s arenas. That is one I never made it too.

Decades ago I made the trip thru Oxford and Huntington.

The Miami arena is my LEAST favorite arena. Seems to have been designed for performing arts not sports.

My problem with emoni is the over the top hype most people on were saying about him. Really they were saying such things the G3 was going to be packed. We were going win the MAC. We needed to offer incentives for people to show up(which really baffled me if the place was going to be packed) why offer incentives? To me he hasn't shown much above average play.

Someone needed to take it down a few notches and that's me. Give him time to adjust and build those college skills he needs. Emoni is about as good as advertised. Me, NOT SUPER predicted that Emoni would average between 17.5 - 20 ppg (I had Noah at 12.5 - 15.). He is at 20 ppg. I guess I get an "A+" for being dead on prediction. Super's grade???

W/out a Boykins-like PG, Emoni will never average 25 - 30 ppg. He has to work too hard to get his shot. Doesn't get a lot on easy baskets. Rarely single teamed.

Our offense too often is like driving in snow. Yesterday I also watched Howard who has a PG, Elijah Hawkins, a poor-man's Earl Boykins, about 5' 8" and very quick and very good handle... Our game and Howard's game completely different. Hawkins got 13 and 10 assists in two of his last three games. We don't have a PG who can get a half dozen assists.

This is a poor man's Boykins. Super quick, can shoot the three, assists, steals, etc.

This is what we do NOT have. Put Hawkins on our team, move Noah to the SG and watch the fireworks.

I'll repeat what I've said before: IF EMU had a really good PG who could run and gun an offense like Boykins, Emoni might be averaging 25+ PPG.

His offensive efficiency suffers because we lack a top draw PG and a strong rebounding team which can run. A P.S. ONE of the problems last year at Memphis is that Emoni wanted to be a PG. This is surprising. As noted, he is very tall and has a high dribble. He is better off as a wing player.

Steve, I think you, BobW, and I (and others) did a good job policing some of the unfair libel and rhetoric that was running rampant on this board. You put it best that “this is a public facing forum”. I think many did not reallize the negative impact they were having to our alma mater, the basketball program, and most importantly to an innocent young man who never did anything to hurt those perpetrating the baseless defamation of character. The conduct was indeed disgusting and an embarrassment to the EMU community. We are on the right side of ethics and decency, and should continue to call it out if it starts happening again to this individual or any other individual.

But engaging in debate on the matter is a futile cause- especially with people like Super”Fan” as they seem to me to have a rigid mindset and will continue to argue without reason or reconsideration of their view. I think our point is registering with Super”Fan” though, at least on some levels. He just can’t admit it so he continues to argue. It might make things worse to get in a back and forth debate with him. I have done so at times, but realized it was a mistake. Going forward, I am going to continue to call out any unfair libel and rhetoric as indecent conduct whenever it occurs, but will refrain from engaging in a futile and perpetuating debate. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Is Emoni a student athlete or athlete student? If he has no plans on graduating from EMU why is he here? Why are we giving him a scholarship? There little chance of him ever donating to EMU. This whole post is you making things up in your head. You don’t know any of it to be true. It is reasonable to suspect he is probably one and done at EMU. It is NOT reasonable to suspect there is little chance of him donating to EMU, or that he won’t have ties to EMU, or he has no commitment to his teammates. The teammates might be ecstatic to have Emoni a future draft pick play even if for only a year- it gives them a buddy who has contacts in the pros. Or maybe not, I don’t know. But neither do you.

What you are doing is PUBLICLY saying a bunch of NEGATIVE THINGS about a guy that you do NOT HAVE ANY BASIS TO ASSERT. That is literally the definition of libel. You need to cut this out now!!
