Gonna need the program for the first few games just to learn who's who.
I am curious of what do you mean by optimistic? Care to place a prediction?
I agree on the frontcourt. Last year, Geeter, Randle, and Billingsley were all just second year players with limited prior experience. And although Jihad was in his third year, I believe he is young age wise for his class. Big men usually take longer to develop, especially in the MAC, and any one of them can take off next year. Plus EMU added height with 7-0 Martynov and
6-8 Serven as replacements for an undersized 6-6 Golson. Finding 2 or 3 solid performers out of that 6 is not necessarily something to expect, but certainly a possibility. The season seems to ride on that, since the backcourt should be fine in terms of starters and depth.
While I may not be as exuberant as you Ramy, I simply cannot believe this season's team will be as hard to watch as the previous one. I am in with the Nickle. That said, why forecast a prediction where a proven bet-Welcher from Iowa can rub in your face if you are wrong? Let's just root hard for Stan and EMU.

Can our guards be turnover free and get the ball to the big men and can the big men finish and score? Can the guards break down the defense either with outside shooting or taking it to the rim? Can our big men rebound?! We have struggled since Heath's arrival with assists to turnovers, rebounding, 3 point shooting and last year defense.

Holy moly! That was a crazy dunk!!!
I am happy for Noah. EMU was a stepping stone for him to get back on track- but that is the way it is going to go. He was fun to watch when he was here and you could tell he had a good character, was a good team mate, etc. We really had a good one for a couple years.

I'm not sure stepping stone. The 2022-23 EMU team basically disintegrated. Decided his last year should be elsewhere.

A decision shared by a few of his teammates

Exactly Steve! The ball should have run thru Noah vs Emoni. Noah was the foundation for the program and should have been the PG with the 2G and 3G determined by who wanted to play defense. Noah would have stayed if not for the fiasco last season.

I think “disintegrated” is a bit of an exaggeration. 1 player graduated, 1 went to the NBA, 1 transferred up, 2 transferred laterally. 5 players is not much more (if at all) then a normal changeover for a college team. Also, he has two years left after sitting it out this year.
To be clear, I am not saying Noah used EMU as stepping stone in a negative way. He is a P5 player, we all recognized he was likely to transfer up. But he gave us his all while he was here. I recognize/appreciate that. And I feel EMU gave him an opportunity to showcase his skills- ECU did not- so I hope he also appreciates his time at EMU. I am not bothered by players transferring up, I am content following MAC.
