Men's game 19: Hampton
The pirates are having a rough go at 3-15 and 0-6 in conference. They have played a tougher slate so far, however they have yet to lose a game by single digits in conference. So they are not really being competitive on those games. They score 67 points a game and their leading scorer (and best player) is Jordan Nesbitt. They have been rotating their guys trying to find something that works (10 guys averaging double digit minutes). Nesbitt will get his, and typically inefficiently. He is also their leading rebounding and steal getter. I struggle to see this one staying competitive, either. They just are not a good team, so even an off shooting night should yield an easy win heading into the Delaware game.

Hampton- 64
Drexel- 81

It's pretty bananas that there are 3 teams with zero conference wins this far into the season. Hampton plays Monmouth on Sat., so one of them is guaranteed to get a win by the end of the week.

Hope nobody bet Drexel tonight. This was a trap game for Drexel with the big rivalry showdown looming on Saturday. The story of the game was that Drexel just couldn't pull away and had numerous chances to do so. Hampton has been having a really tough go of it in year 1 in the CAA but you have to give them credit tonight. They made numerous big shots, made most of their free throws, and didn't turn the ball over. Drexel, on an off night, was still just a tad bit better at home. Dragons now in 4th place with the dub getting blasted at Hofstra tonight.

The spot was horrendous for sure, so coming out and having a competitive first half was no real surprise, however by the first media timeout in the 2nd half we were up 12. You have to be able to put a team away like this and not let them linger. They never really got close where it felt like we were going to lose, but it was still far too close for comfort when it came down to having to hit FT's.
