Men's game 18: @Northeastern
After a disappointing loss to Stony Brook, we now must turn around quickly tomorrow for Northeastern. Northeastern is well rested. This screams a recipe for disaster. We are the more talented team. This is just a bad spot. I am expecting Telfort to drop 30 on us. Going 3-3 with this early schedule would be a huge letdown and is going to make February appear a very difficult road heading into the CAAT. We need this one badly.

I think this hinges on if we have our shooting stroke early. If we start cold again, I don't think we'll be able to recover on short rest.

Well, we definitely started out hot. Got a bit sloppier near the end, hopefully that doesn't continue into the second half. 44-28 is far from a safe lead.

All eight of your players scored 4 to 7. You made 7 of 12 threes. Northeastern had only 10 rebounds. Jamie Bergens, who did not start, and Northeastern's Masai Troutman led with 7 points. Bergens led all players with 5 assists. He made 3 field goals, and your other seven players made 2.
I wish I could find out when the last time (if ever) a team used at least eight players in a half and range of most field goals made to fewest field goals made was 1. Williams scored 5 and led all players with 5 rebounds. He made his third three of the season, which is as many as he had in 43 career games before this season. Nobody on either team attempted more than 5 field goals.

The second half was way more comfortable than I expected it to be. It continued being a very balanced day, with four players in double figures (Williams, Turner, Oden, Moore), but none with more than 12. Free throw shooting still needs improvement, especially Amari who went 1-4. Good to get a comfortable win, but this remains a road trip we should have gone 2-0 on.

Drexel's first road win by 20+ since beating Cleveland State in the Bracketbuster game in 2012. And this was Drexel's 2nd CAA win ever on the road by 20+. Last time they won a road game by 20+ was at Towson in February 2003.

We were better in every way in this one. Our offense moved and was fluid and created a lot of easy buckets. When we do this we can be dangerous, when we have guys standing in corners we are stagnant. I am glad this team responded to the Stony Brook game. Also NU's defense was poor, at best. We have interchangeable depth, its nice when we actually use it. We play like this and we are definitely in contention for a top 4 spot. If we dont, it is not likely we will be. Hopefully we can channel this game into the same energy and style for future games.
