2020 Athletic DI athletic budgets related to student fees
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/education/h...s-n1145171

2020 database of student fees, athletic budgets, and percent of budget covered by student fees. CofC student fees $1278/$12.8 million, budget $21 million. UNCW fees $750/$10.6 million, budget $18.8 million. UNCW has a budget gap of about $8 million above athletic fees and so does CofC. Although they have a smaller student population, they collect about $2 million more in student fees which allows them to pay more to coaches. If we charged the same amount for student fees we'd blow their budget away. 18,000 students UNCW/10,384 COfC. What's apparent is that student fees at schools in both South Carolina and Virginia are much higher than schools in North Carolina. We need to either raise more money or increase student fees to compete.

If we charged the same amount of $1278 per student our fees would total $23 million. Add in the $8 million we raise and the budget would swell to a minimum of $31 million. Think about that for a minute. That's how JMU excelled in athletics. Their student fees are $2,340 and generate $38.9 million from almost 22,000 students. JMU and ODU bring in the largest amount in student fees in the NCAA at $38.9 million and $28 million respectively. Charlotte brings in $21.6 million, VCU $20.7 million.

Related topic, Seahawk Club seems to be increasing it's mailings, letting folks now who is catering pre games and how much they need to donate to get in. It's about time they are opportunistic taking advantage of the success.
