Draft Prospects
Hey guys,
Im looking to get your feedback on our guys and their potential to get drafted. I'm happy for the guys as it seems like there are other leagues they could play in outside of the NFL.

Players I think who stand a legit shot at getting drafted...
1. Sow (OL)
2. Ramirez (DE)
3. Bogan (he is interesting because I think he could test really well and has measurables)

Thoughts?
(maybe Drummond as a UFA?)

RE: Draft Prospects
Well for what it's worth, Jose Ramirez is the only EMU player that ESPN lists on their draft rankings.

I think that Sow and Ramirez will definitely be either drafted or be UFAs.

I doubt Drummond gets much of an opportunity. He seems to lack the speed needed for pro ball. Maybe I'm wrong.

Hass and Powell might get a sniff too.

Let's not forget Ryland. He might get drafted or be a UFA (hello Lions).

I would say that is pretty spot on, with the possible exception of Sow.

Still 30% of NFL players did not get drafted. Hass, Bogan and others could get training camp invites for sure. Then making a team becomes an endurance contest of sorts. Wylie got cut THREE times before he stuck with the Chiefs. Sexton has paid his own way in the Spring League, got cut by the Pats after hernia surgeries and is still trying with the USFL Vegas Vipers. I think a lot of guys refuse to keep up the conditioning regimen and just choose to move on with their lives in other career pursuits.

Pat O Conner and Darius Jackson had their trials as well.

Pat's trial is still ongoing. He's been with the Bucs since 2017

Football is much harder to judge than basketball, at both the collegiate or pro levels.

NFL FAs abound. PWOs abound in college.

Walkons aren't typical much of a factor in college hoops. Ditto UDFAs in NBA.

Yes my point was that Pat had many stops along the way. The fact that is playing in the NFL is a tribute to his hard work and character.

For sure. Keeping yourself in shape with no guarantee of a job is no small task.

What are there about 250 draftees? 330 invites.

EDIT: 262 draftees in 2022.

Great news! Did Sidy Sow start all 4 years? With the covid season all 5? I believe his 1st year was 2017!

I believe he has the EMU record for most career starts. Here's a guy who I think could be a long time NFL player.

The Lions could use another OG. Keep Sidy in MI.

Going O/T but I think the Lions should add an OG in the 2nd round. They hurt if a starting guard goes down.

USFL draft today. Michigan Panthers drafted two EMU players and Pittsburgh one.

Jose, Sidy and Gunnar.
