Doubt if ETSU - at least in modern history, has ever started a conference season, for the first 5 games, by losing all at home, but winning all on the road.

Yes that got ugly.
Got a convincing win. King found himself a little bit, I would say. Now it’s Mercer, who’s a train wreck. Get the win fellas, and block out the rest. Put your head down and go.

I liked what I heard from Jordie in the post game interview with Jay. I think they may be serious about playing together and winning. Getting everybody back certainly helps.

Yep. Every bit of that was on target. Respectful, calm, balanced; not a tinge of ego showing. Let's hope they can keep this going.

[Laughing] “Shot selection not great, but all things considered, why not?”

The epitome of Jordan King in an announcer’s comment on the end of game three 02-13-banana

Needed another confidence boost. We’ll get a few more games like that out of King (well, maybe not 40+ career highs) and a few more dud games. He lives and dies by the three!

I'd like to know how we get this team. Although Citadel typically doesn't have the best talent, they compete hard. After 10 minutes or so, I never felt the win was in doubt. Such a major swing performance-wise - wish I could bottle it.

Having everyone healthy makes a major difference for this team! People have been so down on them, but you’ve got to remember, there haven’t been many games where everyone has been healthy and able to play. And this Citadel team is no slouch either. They beat Chatt by about 10, so this wasn’t a dud team we just steamrolled.

I’ve been critical of King a lot this year but must give props to his performance last night. I’m trying to recall the last time a Buc went for 40+. Maybe Pigram did it?

Edit: Cromer had 41 against Samford in ‘17. Timmy had 41 against GaSouthern. Pigram hit 39 once.

We need to find a way to play hurt. Good teams do. We cant let this be an excuse. Teams have beat us this year playing hurt as well. Glad we played our bench some this game. Go BUCs

Just keep it up and play well the rest of the year. The players showed a good attitude last night and it felt good to see. Now let's start winning some home games! Our first goal now is to just avoid being in the bottom four and having to play in Asheville on Friday.

RE: Official Game Thread: @ The Citadel
It’s going to be up and down through the end of the season. Oliver could raise his neck away from the chopping block by stopping the wild swings and demonstrating more stability and improvement game to game. Sometimes it has been 1 step forward, 2 steps back, it seems. No more locker room meltdowns. No more 20 point blowouts, start winning at home, and in general making upticks in all of the statistical categories. And for heaven’s sake, keep micromanaging the injuries through full recovery because this team can’t hold together otherwise.

P.S. We all know what Noland & Sanders do to go coaches that go out first round in Asheville. If you forgot, ask Bartow. This team’s got to be ready for the end game.

Note post about new NCAA portal rules I just made in the "TRANSFER PORTAL" general thread.

Totally agree. It's not like this team will be able to flip the switch and suddenly be able to play error free. What you hope for is an overall trend of improvement, culminating with a team that has a legitimate shot to win in Asheville. Can't get too high or too low after any single game as long as the arc is upward.
