But this probably is the biggest since that Navy game. And UNCW was only 9-8 at the time heading into that one. The stakes in this game will likely be higher.

The interest in Charleston has become massive as well. Elon, Hofstra and Stony Brook have all sold out already and the other home games probably will come close to for CofC.

National ranking will do that along with an exciting brand of basketball. Great to see in the CAA. The boats all rise with the tide.

This is a tough one to call. Two completely different styles of play plus CofC hasn't played an away game against a team as good as UNCW or at an arena that has a home court advantage with a crowd like we will have at Trask. Both teams could crumble under the hype, both teams could rise to the occassion, or one team could step up under the pressure while the other wilts. Any of those could happen and I wouldn't be surprised.

If we ratchet up the pressure and get some steals and fast breaks, Trask is going to explode and CofC may crumble. If they get their inside out going, hit the boards and torch the nets from three, we could crumble. I was at the William and Mary game when a Keatts team got thrashed and we gave up over 100 points to them. I was at the Navy game when Robinson ripped out our hearts on a last second jumper, so i'm a bit snake bitten on the hyped up home games.

Since I was only 1 year old when the Navy game happened, I’ve been lucky enough to say I haven’t had the same experience. Between Jerry/Brownell/Keatts/Siddle, I can honestly say that we’ve won quite a bit more than we’ve lost in hyped up home games that I can recall.

Vegas knows you don’t pick the road favorite to win in big conference games. The home dog usually comes out on top in those. Smart gamblers do too. That’s been a hard and fast rule at every level of college ball for a long time.

It’s game day!!!!

Charleston has been more intense than us, have rebounded better, and moved the ball much better.
