Basically, this is another home game where if we take care of the ball and shoot the 3 for a decent percentage, we should win going away.

SB doesn't have guards from what I have seen that can break us down like A&T did.

Agreed. By the way, I watched the NC game again. I wanted to see what a couple of guys were doing right or wrong and it was incorrect of me to say that Woods "had his way with everyone who guarded him." That was the case with Troutman, Cormier and King but Telfort guarded him for more than a few minutes in the second half and he either forced him to give up the ball or made him throw up a wild shot in the paint. The other guys could learn a lot about how to play defense with your feet.

That's a really bad loss. Lost it in the 1st half I feel. Stony was quicker to the loose balls and our ball movement was not crisp (decisive) enough to generate any good looks. We gave them energy and life and they took full advantage.

I didn't see the game but looking at the box score it looks like we're back to relying on threes too much again. How do you let a guy shooting eleven percent from three take another four of them in nine minutes? Horrible loss.

RE: Stony Brook
NU played right into SB’s hands. They backed off Doherty and had their 7-footer stay in the paint defensively and dared him to shoot jumpers. And Doherty got intimidated by his length in the 1st half and barely attempted any shots inside.

Of course we were woefully bad from behind the arc while SB knocked theirs down.

We played better in the 2nd half and cut the lead to 2 a few times, but they would knock down a 3 to kill our momentum.

We shouldn’t have lost to SB at home. But I will look forward to playing them again on Long Island.

NU is on the road tonight against Stony Brook on Long Guyland. The game is at 7pm and on SNY down here in NYC.

If SB comes out hot like they did in the first meeting, then we will lose again. Give credit to SB though, they're playing well in their first go-around in the league.

If we value the ball and make some shots beyond the arc and Doherty doesn't get all intimidated by the height and length of Fitzmorris, we can win this game. It's as simple as that.

Very nice win. Shot lights out and responded well at times when things could have gotten a little dicey in the 2nd half. We have settled into a core rotation now with minutes seemingly harder to come by and the bench shorter. Real nice game by Masai and excellent team D in the 2nd half. We also rebounded at a +10 margin again. We needed that as the next 3 will be very tough beginning Saturday when C of C comes calling.

Help me out. C of C is the 3rd ranked team we have played at home. I'm assuming Sparty was a few yeas ago, but who was the other? BC when they used to actually enjoy competing?

You hosted Number 1 Michigan State on December 19, 2015 and lost 78-58. You hosted Number 20 Duke on December 30, 1995 and lost 87-56.

You allowed under 20 rebounds for the third time in four games.

We should have saved some of those threes for Saturday.

"If you don't have something good to say.........." But, seriously, there have been a FEW positives lately.
