Alcorn State can’t get there tomorrow. Can the Rockets?

RE: Minnesota Hoops game?
Been a bunch of cancellations but it looks like Rockets gave up on that plan to fill non conf game #13 on short notice. ranked Miami cancelled today's game w Vermont, but they have a Friday conf game. Minn, Iowa St, etc... would all be fun road games but I think the team was too worn out by all the early travel and moved on. Maybe, if we were sitting 10-2 or 11-1 there is a different approach as an at large would be reachable. Nothing on twitter suggesting Rockets will head on the road.

If the players aren't going to get anything out of it, yeah I guess it doesn't make sense. What if it were one of those iconic venues though? Hard to pass up.

Psh, yeah against Cardinal Stritch High School. Let's cancel that 50+ point blowout and play a real team that will help up come March. I'd give BtotheBlair a ton of points for pulling that one off!

The Alcorn-Minn game was just cancelled this afternoon. UT would have had only about 30 hours to cancel the game with Lourdes, book flights (good luck with that right now!) or find a charter flight (that is hard to do at the last second), or get a bus driver and make the 10+ hour drive to Minny, get a hotel booked, meals set up, etc. THEN, you have the prep and scout for the game. It would be a total sh!t show. This isn't the same scenario from 2020 when UT just had to make the 45 minute drive up 23 to UM.

Sure sounds like you’re opening your wallet to pay for that charter flight to Minneapolis. Pony up.

RE: Minnesota Hoops game?
all this is more reason for teams to have a bye during the conf season to make up or reschedule cancelled games and give bubble teams another meaningful opponent.

logistics this week are too difficult as MidnightB&G states. With a couple weeks lead time it would be easy to play at Minn, Virginia, Miami, New Mexico, etc...although most of those teams have little to gain from hosting UT.

I'd like to think they'd have a lot to gain. And a lot to lose. Regardless their talent, for them to play a squad as mature as ours on a day's notice? I like Toledo's chances. IF they could get there having slept in the previous 24 hours. Nightmare logistics for not an emergency..

Wasn't the UT at Michigan game a UM fill date for another schools cancellation ?

Like I said earlier, a 45 minute drive up 23 is totally different than a 10 hours bus ride/finding flights to Minnesota.
