Balado hasn't managed to brush against class, much less embrace it. If we hadn't hired a drunk as an AD he'd already be gone. As it is, I'm wondering if they'll fire him after this year because there is a small buyout. I keep hearing rumors that the money is tight.

I am beginning to see a trend with the JMU fans on here. That may prove to be tough group of fans to stomach going forward. I could see them becoming USM's new Louisville replacement from CUSA 1.0.

That's fair. USM has been kicked on so much in the last decade due to having arguably our worst decade ever in Athletics, that I think we are pretty used to taking our lumps. USM just needs to win again in all sports like we have in Baseball. We seem to be heading in the right direction in football and basketball, but the fan base is so emotionally damaged, that many have taken a "I will believe it when I see it approach to USM athletics". Years of really bad leadership at USM, took a major toll on the fan base.

There's certainly a contention of ODU fans that see JMU as what I'd paraphrase as unjustified elitists. My dad is certainly one of them. I don't know what happened in the 70s but man they carry plenty of hate for JMU. They're our own little version of UVA where there's a blue collar vs white collar vibe going on. I have tons of friends and family that went to JMU and I visited regularly back and forth. shrug.

And just like any fan base there are a few that carry the torch for us all. =]

I suppose I can't end it so cordial, JMU.
