Chicago State at Minnesota
11 minutes to go. Chicago leads 46-44. Let’s hope they can maintain. Lots of game left.

Edit: Chicago down by 2. Under 4 left.

We have played the OVC tough, and the MVC tough, and now we are down to the wire with the Big Ten. We belong!

Four minutes to go, and we have held them to 14 points in the second half. That is defense rising to the occasion!

Back and forth game. Gonna come down to the wire. And Minnesota is foul prone, and Chicago keeps taking it to them. And the Cougars shoot free throws pretty well.

Disappointing, but nothing wrong with the effort.

Minnesota is one of the worst of the Power Conference teams, but they ARE a power conference team and have all the advantages connected with that position, and we stayed with them until the last shot.

RE: Chicago State at Minnesota
Unfortunately the miscounted extra point that was awarded Minnesota did change the dynamic of the game a little. It would have changed the plays at the end of the game for sure. I was unclear from the announcers why it could not have been corrected—they said something to the effect that once’s it’s on the scoreboard you can’t take it off. That made no sense to me.

After the win, Minnesota is only 20 something spots ahead of Chicago State in the NET, so by that measure, the game played out pretty close to expected.

But yeah, only about 4 P6 programs currently ranked below Minnesota.
