Dear Jerry,
You are absolutely correct! If, you and I are still around for that game, we should go have a drink together afterwards.

Love to see it at the academies and when Paul had it rolling in Atlanta).
Playing Army in 2030 will be radically different.
Heck by then we could be at war somewhere, and playing their JV. Let's hope not
WHAT A WEIRD WAY TO END A POST
You want weirder? Ken and I, due our advanced age, may be discussing a game that we will not be alive to see.
Lol
Great posts all the way around, Guys!
(Although, Jerry. You are not nearly as old as Ken I believe- don’t know of course)

It's an unscientific fact that if you lay money on every EMU opponent, then it will cancel out the season ticket jinx.
Purely brilliant!! Will try. (Especially after Luckey upped the jinx by “anointing me a good luck charm”)

Dear cidbearit,
I would agree, and would like to hear from as many season ticket holders as to what was heard at their event.

It's on my calendar. Jerry, Ken and your brother Serge all meet up and quaff a few beers after that game.

Officially 7 weeks from kickoff!
Can't wait to hear about how camp will go. Most notably who is taking the reigns at QB and how the O-line will gel.
Position I feel most comfortable with: RB and secondary. LB are set with Kline and Sparacio but we need depth.

Dear Luckeyone,
That is what makes me proud of the job that Chris Creighton has done at our alma mater.

15 Days until kickoff.
Anyone know when the official depth chart-game notes come out? would love to see who gets the starting nod

If I remember correctly, on a normal week (i.e. a game on Saturday) they come out on the Monday before. Since the first game of the year is on a Friday I would guess we'd get the game notes on Sunday, August 27th. One thing I have learned though is that even the official depth chart they put out usually aren't that reliable.

An early look at the 2023 football season.
It's probably safe to assume that Knue will be #2 this season. Agree?

Sow is obviously one of the greatest players we've had and will be a huge loss. Thankfully we have three guys (Howie, Johnson, Dooley) all back who have started for years and are good players. Rewolinski and Douglas both have started in spots and should be able to fill in and play well. I've also read or heard good things about some of the young guys (Jackson, Warnsman, Indestad, Anderson, Lee) so there should be a healthy competition for those spots. We may take a slight step back losing Sow, but overall this should be a good group."
I would have given a '7' before the loss of Johnson. I now give it a '5' and hope Douglass can step in at center.
If so, the right side of our OL will be our strength, the opposite of 2022.
**************
I think 2023 will be a reload/rebuild year. I see a lot more question marks that many posters:
1). 60% new OL,
2). New QB,
3). Replace all-American DE,
i read an article that in CFB now the difference between a decent/good team and a very good/great team is QUARTERBACKING. We are far now, January 2, from having very good quarterbacking. This makes 2023 a big, big question mark for us. Inexperienced line and new QB can be problematic.
Got to see what comes out of spring ball at QB and OL!!! A good OL and a good QB helped Evans look really good. Evans is really good BUT a RB needs a lot of help just like a QB needs a good OL and receivers.
I see a lot of parallels to the Lions. The Lions built a very sturdy OL (and w/out all of the 2021 injuries) and Goff and runners thrived behind it. Sounds parallel to what we had in 2022. As we know the left side of our OL ate up their side of the SJSU DL/LB. We have memories of Sow blocking his OL and then getting to the 2nd level and hitting the LB.
I think this poster nailed it. think the post was 1-1-23.
