Great season either way. First .500+ season in the FBS right?

If we played WKU earlier this year during the regular season USA might have had an advantage. But there's no way we win most games with the way they were playing yesterday. Their QB was throwing wide open passes because our defense wasn't set or even had the play called on many of those plays. This game taught our coaching staff a huge lesson, one I think they dwell on all offseason.

This was indeed our first .500+ year in FBS. We've been 6-6 and lost the bowl twice and been 6-6 not making a bowl once. So this is our first winning season. I look forward to returning most of our team next year and continuing what we've started!

USA had a great season but I admit I was surprised they were not ever in this game. WKU came to play and USA got out-coached IMHO. Still USA has a lot of positives going into the off season and I think they will be just as good if not better next year.

I have been a great supporter of USA this year and congratulate them on a terrific season. I will say I was absolutely shocked how inadequately prepared they were for the WKU passing attack. If not for a penalty they were down three touchdowns in one half a quarter. They will be back.

Although luckily not against GSU. Or maybe they just don't treat playing us in a bowl as a "big game"...

This is not a slam in any way. The first bowl we lost to you was when we had the worst coach in WKU football history and he did zero to prepare for the bowl and actually bragged they'd spent the entire time before the bowl recruiting. When I say worst coach it's not hyperbole. He's managed to continue to fail everywhere else since he left here. Fortunately our administration pulled the plug on him after only 2 years of fail. Many schools wouldn't do that but we did. I still tip my cap to you guys as you came out like a football teams is supposed to in a bowl game that year. Kudos to you.

The next bowl we lost to you was due to Helton's inability to look past P5 stars and play a horrendous quarterback all year long. Pigrome was his name. Kudos again to you guys for winning.

The last 2 years we've had very good quarterbacks and it showed in the bowl games. Both years we finished 9-5 but could easily have been 11-3 or 12-2 both years. I'd love to believe Helton learned something last night by not taking his foot off the gas and will play that way all year but I just doubt he did learn that.

Just send us to deal with WKU. I still remember their all-star QB Mike White being abused nonstop in the Cure Bowl. 05-stirthepot

Out coached all game long and if it doesn’t get corrected you will see tempo next year. South’s weakness was exposed for everyone to see last night.

I agree. Not many teams would have been able to beat WKU yesterday. I can't believe they lost 5 games this year.

Definitely not taken as a slam. Weird things happen at bowl time anyway, and I do remember being surprised at how one-sided a lot of plays looked in that Cure Bowl.
