How about the Western Atlantic Conference?
Or the Atlantic West Conference?
Or the Western Sun Conference?
Or the Sunny Athletic Conference?

Oh, the irony..… the newbie, Kennesaw State fan, his team, all of two months selected to receive the golden egg invite to “big party”, knows all and has all the answers!

RE: ASUN WAC FBS
To succeed there will have to be more teams involved. Several will be poached and we all know that when the SBC or Cusa comes calling EKU and or the others will be gone.

Currently the big 12 is talking about adding 2to4 schools. We know the Pac will add at least 2 probably from the mwc. Who'll simply replace them from below. So thats some where between 4-8 schools. Where will the WAC Asun stand when it's over?
It reminds me a whole lot of the WAC east plan.

RE: ASUN WAC FBS
With that being said I'm not real sure why CUSA doesn't go ahead and add the schools they will eventually add anyway.
I'd guess EKU and Tarleton.
A team that is prepared as well as preparing further and a up and coming team with a growing population and a reported load of cash.
And both in good to excellent markets not represented in CUSA. Perhaps the money is there to support these adds.

Jones will be glad someone finally hears him.

Sad thing is two months ago he would have been all about this.

And if you read my posts you would know that I think C-USA will get EKU within 3 years but you only read what you think as negative.

RE: ASUN WAC FBS
The WAC tried to go down this route in the past. There is no such thing as a single sport FBS conference. It is possible that they could do a full merger and take the WAC name/bylaws as the WAC was once a bonafide FBS conference. The definition of a bonafide conference requires at least 8 members that sponsor FBS football plus 15 other sports.

Could exceptions be made? Sure, Liberty was granted an exception to move up without an invite from a conference. But none of these schools meet the requirements or even come close to meeting the requirements. Then again, I don’t understand how Sam is getting approved for FBS. Yes, they have an invite from CUSA; but how can they sell 15k tickets once every two years when they’re stadium has a 14k capacity? Neutral site games are not allowed to count for home attendance so I just don’t get it. Maybe an expansion is planned? When we moved back up, we had to add seating prior to even starting the transition. It seems like these rules are just ignored now. Why have rules if they are never enforced? This is a sure fire way for the mega schools to break off from everyone else.

The law is not enforced. There a ways to get around it as well. You really think Georgia State average 15K

They’d be the bottom feeder that lets us see which programs are actually worth taking. I think it would be great for us.

RE: ASUN WAC FBS
The G5 across the board should attempt to block this. The AAC, Sun Belt, C-USA, MAC, and MWC should unify to be a veto block, if possible. Why? Pretty simple. It comes down to financials.

If another league forms, whatever the pool of money that is split for the playoff isn’t going to come from the P5s share. It’s going to be a direct slice out of the already smaller G5 distribution. This move threatens every single G5 school and conference. Not from a competitive standpoint but from a financial one. Most of us already struggle to meet budget. Having an entire new conferences will have gargantuan financial implications and none of them will be good for any of us.

RE: ASUN WAC FBS
This is a total joke. Have you seen some of the facilities at these schools
They don’t have the budgets either.
CUSA does not need to add any other schools
Nobody would be for this. The P5 schools would not and
The G5 would not want to split the 20% from the CFP with
Another dozen schools.

This is just a last ditch effort for those schools to get in before
The next CFP agreement is signed. But the good thing is the
Next agreement should be signed before these schools transition
Would be done.

Yes the big power house Austin Peay. They
We’re playing non scholarship football in the Pioneer league a few short years ago then joined the ovc then bolted to the ASUN. And now another
League.

I would like the Tops to join the SEC. But I don’t think a threat a anti trust
Law Suit will make that happen.

Georgia State has a mechanism to sell 15k tickets once every two years. Sam Houston doesn’t, and none of these FCS schools wanting to move up have the ability to fake it once every two years either. I don’t know how they will get past that requirement.

The courtroom. Why do you think the CFP is expanding to 12 and there's talk of March Madness expanding, too?

The threat of anti-trust lawsuits.

From an article in September:

"...keeps the feds away from collusion or antitrust accusations from the smaller conferences."

"With access going from four to 12, that reinforces the unlikely prospect of any legal action."

Couldn't the same thing be applied to the P5 having more voting power than the G5 or that the G5 only gets 1 CFP slot and not 5 like the P5.

Yep.

nope, because the move to grant those five more autonomy was voted on and passed by all conferences The CFP setup, present and future was passed unanimously by all ten conferences as well.
