Some insiders have said that USC negotiated a placement in the east division as part of the deal. UCLA to west. I apologize that I cannot name the source of this info as it was going around a month ago. I think it was during Joel Klatt's podcast. I think divisions for Big 10 football will remain. The Big 12 will almost certainly go to divisions when they get the 4 newcomers. The chat boards are already speculating on how that league will be divided. This ensures certain matchups. Yes - a UM vs OSU game would always remain in a non conference alignment. The SEC with divisions has certain teams always play each other across non-conference lines. UT vs BG is another example. But trying to keep several high profile matchups still requires divisions.

Several publications has also intimated same scenario.

USC wants the high profile placement in the east division and it seems they'll get it.

Go Rockets!

The Big Ten commissioner said this week that divisions/no divisions and who might be in divisions will be a major subject at their next meeting.

Go Rockets!

They are east of UCLA so.... that's 60 minutes in LA time. 14 min toledo time.

NYC and DC screen time is what they want. Right?

Right

Your geographical analysis is spot-on. Westwood is east of USC !!! Good call.

Go Rockets!

Not according to Google maps. USC is 27 miles South East of UCLA.

Made a typo I imagine. Meant to write "west."
USC to UCLA

I found this on the way from USC to UCLA: the good and the bad of LA (spin around )

You got time to eat.
