What's your preference....an assistant/associate from a bigger school, or a head coach of a smaller school looking to move up?

I guess the third option is somehow flawed ex-head-coach of a major program. Call it the Tarleton option.

Many people told me they want Art Briles and I said no thanks... (Briles is coaching in Italy Pro Football League so no thanks again)

I would steer clear of the Tarleton option as well. There have been other names tossed around as well that have some connection to the area working a P5/G5 job at the moment, so that's where I lean more towards a D2 winner, which may define the current AD's tenure of making his name heard.

David Bailiff? Per the Commerce website, they could not agree on a contract extension so he is free.

TexanFan again pass because it's a brand new program... although it has not been mentioned publicly, I am sensing they also want someone with local ties and no I do NOT WANT A LOCAL High School coach.

It's a nice problem to have, choosing your next football coach. I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands of eligible candidates out there, and you may find that the right guy to start up the program will not be the same guy that will take it to the next level. Sometimes it's hard to remember that it's just a game.
