Exclamation Playoffs vs. Rose Bowl
I wonder if SI is just fueling the flames with these articles.

https://www.si.com/college/2022/11/28/co...reddit.com

The latest...

"In its latest proposal to the CFP, the Rose Bowl is requesting to host a semifinal in two out of every three years assuming semifinals are held on New Year’s Day. It is another attempt to keep the Rose Bowl’s traditional date and time (5 p.m. ET on Jan. 1) in future postseason formats."

So I'm not the only one who wants to keep the semifinals on New Year's Day.

If I'm the CFP, a format of semifinals on NYD and the Rose Bowl being a semifinal once every three years and the semifinals scheduled around the Rose Bowl in other years would be my counter proposal assuming the schools are willing to move the season up a week.

Feel free to merge with past threads.

RE: Playoffs vs. Rose Bowl
Unfortunately for the Rose, the other bowls likely agreed given a principle of an even rotation.

I too think the CFP can talk them down to 1/3 with guaranteed 5pm spot. Rose is going to fight it; they see their current leverage as an opportunity to separate themselves from the other NY6.
