RE: Candle to Cincinnati
I just re-watched the 2001 MAC title game against Marshall.

Our OL was full of studs. We gashed Marshall with Taylor and mates.

Ranger was right - we didn't have a "feature" back for the first time in many, many years. I just can't help but feel there's been a talent and athleticism drop-off in recent years. Yes- we won a title but I doubt this team could defeat the 2001 team. It could be a stomping. Times are different.

Kent's Sean Lewis to Colorado to be Sander's OC. $750,000 buy out. hmmmm.

Goes to market value? Did Coach Candle have an interview?

Miami was terrible this year. No bowl for them. I'm sure Candle will take his championship.

With a different OC, they might not have been terrible. Even lack of success in a high profile program means salary jumps and moving up if your component of the job performs. Too many what ifs here I think.

Not a lot of reasons a person can make public about refusing a job though. Easier just to say, "job's not finished" where they're at.

Quote:Toledo head coach Jason Candle just won his second MAC championship with the Rockets and would bring an offensive background. He’s 53-32 without a losing season, and Toledo led the MAC in scoring in each of the past two years.

He named almost everyone with a name.

With the historical connection between that school down south, one of those more interesting than the others. Whether they would have the biscuits to try and snatch Lewis from Prime Time, IDK. Again, historically it would be a good match. They tend to favor offensive innovators and those that can get their lines set before the clock runs out.
