Art Briles?

Briles has a long-standing relationship with the Liberty AD (from Baylor days). Might happen. Liberty is the one school that wouldn’t care what kind of stinky dustup would be raised with the reactivation of Briles as HC, and Briles would accept the offer in a NY minute.

Not that I believe he would leave for an AAC school, but I believe he was the DC at Tulane before coming to Troy with Neal Brown. They have an opening now that Fritz has been hired by GT. I don't think Sumrall leaves after one season either, but you never know.

I'd honestly be shocked to see him go to Tulane or any SBC coach make lateral moves to the AAC.

Willie Fritz did it. Dead end school, lateral move.. either way, $2 million a year is a 100% raise from sun belt.

I for one am happy to see Freeze get another shot. Hopefully he can remain as steadfast as he was at Liberty under the biggest spotlight he's ever had. I pray that he does.

It's funny what society considers a good redemption story though. Everyone loves and underdog, but apparently when it comes to second chances, people should burn in hell instead. I sincerely laugh at that. I'm about as anti-society as it gets, I utterly despise society at large. But hey, that's just my opinion and there's nothing you can do about that.

No one here would stay at their job out of loyalty if offered 10 times as much at another business with a ton more perks. It’s just silly to think a coach stays put out of love for a school.

Bob Pruett got the job at Houston but stayed at Marshall out of love for Marshall. Well because of his wife's love for Huntington. But he would have made substantially more money.

And what happened to him?

I'd bet Chadwell and Cignetti are on Liberty's list. Cignetti is also a candidate at Cincinatti, UAB and one other college that I forget. There's about 5 million reasons to suggest they won't have much of a problem finding a good coach

Is there really anyone thinking that Cig's not holding out for Neal Brown to get served his walking papers? I mean, in case y'all forgot, his ol' man coached up there before the best coach they ever had

That's what about 99% of JMU are banking / hoping. Count me in that number. I have a hard time seeing him bolt before that job comes open.

I only know Chadwell and Cignetti are on the list because the sports outlets says so. I mean, obviously the internet is the source of all truth.

I think most of the is USF fans. I don't see USF as much of an upgrade unless they just opened the checkbook. But stranger things have happened. I think he does need to "cash in" but thought it would be for a GT or similar job ... not a complete rebuild at a bottom AAC school. To me, USF is the type of job he would interview for to get a raise at Coastal and then wait for a better job. But who knows?

Private jet landed at MYR from Tampa for 4 hours prior to the team leaving last Friday. My guess is he is gone.

Also, Cig was a backup QB at WVU. If Cig ever leaves JMU it would be for WVU.

But the clock is ticking. By the time Brown gets his walking papers Cig may be just too old to lead a WVU program.
