Our defense absolutely caved in and our OC got all puckered up with his play calling against Elon in the second half with a big lead. I hope we learned from that. It appeared that we kept our foot on the gas in the most recent games.

There seemed to be a lapse as well at Towson though we were up 37-3 in early Q3. We won 44-24. And Towson never lost after that.

Turnovers and two punts downed inside our 1 had a lot to do with what happened.

Great response to the “Woke Toilet” comment on the GW forum.

RE: Gardner-Webb
We had a lot of momentum grabbing the CAA Championship with how we beat Villanova and Richmond. We need to be wary of not believing a #5 seed means anything and not letting the week off be a momentum stopper. Elon was not very sharp coming out of that week off before their 1st round loss.

New season. Every team is still in the playoffs because they are a quality team. Got to prove it on the field that we want it more and deserve to advance. This is not an easy game for many reasons.

Need to show up and show the energy support this team deserves on Saturday. Go Tribe!

For sure. Need to see sharp and athletic start.

SDSU had their bye the last week of the season, so will be interesting to see how they come out after an extended break.

GW forum already talking about hosting the quarterfinal game hahahaha

I do believe they present a greater challenge than their record or name suggests. Unless we get out to a fast start it may end up being closer than anticipated. Our talent should win out. Go Tribe!

I've been looking all over for FCS playoff lines and can't find anything. What was our source for this one?

Called the ticket office this morning. It appears that if you are a season ticket holder, they just haven't got around to sending you the email yet letting you know that your tickets are available for download. The fellow in the ticket office sent me my email while I was on the phone.

I am a season ticket holder and I got the email containing my mobile tickets shortly after I called to order them on Tuesday last week. I don't think I got an additional email telling me to look for the ticket email, but I saw the ticket email when it showed up.

Edit: Not to say that this isn't some kind of manual process for our ticket office. In general, I've found best practice to be that phone calls are better than emails, and don't get off the phone until the issue is resolved. I agree with 75 that if you don't have your tickets via email yet, you should call.

Wow, that 19.5 spread for Sac St/UR is a surprise. A lot of FCS podcast and social media types have that as a possible upset game.

Wouldn't be surprised if UDel keeps it closer than 22 points either.

Maybe it's just me being pro-CAA, but I think we cover the 10 points as well

G-W's success will ride on their ability to stop the run. Bottom line. They have a good run defense and their impressive outings against Coastal & Liberty hinged on completely shutting down the run. The games they lost or struggled in, teams successfully ran the ball on them. They haven't been run on successfully the way we are accustomed to running the ball, so it will be interesting to see what gives. Of course, Richmond wasn't used to being run on either until we put it on them. I hope Wilson, Pitts, and Newton are up to a solid passing game because I can see a total sell out by G-W to stop the run.

I think that the difference is that you called the ticket office to order your tickets (probably a very smart move on your part) and I just went to my account online, found my two tickets, and ordered them that way. It is probably folks like me who are still waiting for their electronic tickets to arrive via email.

I hear you on the field position issue. I just think Taylor could have taken some more risks when we were up by 19 at home. I don't think the team as it exists today would have played it that conservative.

I watched Sac St play twice on ESPN+ and I think that UR will give them a heck of a game.

I would take every dog against the spread except SE Louisiana and Montana. I expect us, SDSU, and Sac St to win a closer game. I'd put money on Furman, Weber St and New Hampshire to win.

To my earlier point, G-W has averaged giving up 119 yards per game rushing on the season (152 average in D1 OOC) . Our only sub 200 yard rushing games of the year were Elon (149) & Stony Brook (193). We have averaged 300 yards plus over our last 6 games.

Something has got to give...

I'm pretty confident we can run very effectively. Elon ran for well over their average against them as did Marshall. Mercer ran for close to 200 and even Bryant basically ran for their average against them. The real lockdown game they had was Liberty, which is impressive, however.
