Their player, Finn Sullivan, just fouled himself out with that "T".

Crazy what a little bit of off the ball movements will create.

Indeed. We're not exactly calling for the Princeton offense here and not even every possession. Just keep the defense from sitting back for long stretches and we have the talent on O to score. Period.

Mea Culpa. Our length created a ton of turnovers in this game.

At that point in the game, you were correct. It wasn't until later in the contest that it became a real factor.

It's also worth noting that Vermont has been the more fatigued team. Partly due to foul trouble, partly due to our experience in tournament settings and Siddle using a large bench. Turnovers have been the result.

I love using Trazerian as a small ball 5 in late-game situations like these. If you're the opponent....who are you fouling in that case? Everyone on the court can hit their FTs at a high rate.

The fellas get a nice 24-hour break until the title game tomorrow night (8 PM) against the winner of this North Texas / Long Beach St. game.

Let's get a title!

Gotta love the folks who avoid the game thread like the plague only to show up postgame with a "told ya so." I'm sure you were sitting there supremely confident we'd win while we were down 14 and lifeless on offense.

Glad to see the fellas showed that blend of skill and toughness they're capable of but I really, really would like to see us show more of that movement on offense early in the game so we can avoid a double-digit deficit to dig out of wherever possible. That criticism is more than justified by now.

Agree 100%, but that happens in multiple areas. The entire purpose of a message board is to have discussions. If you are willing to put yourself out there to actually create things to DISCUSS, then you may be wrong or you may be right, but at least you're creating discussion. Sitting back and only commenting after something is over is cowardly.

Hawks' are going to be a tough out in any tournament. It's amazing how deep we are when you watch how we play. Eight guys played at least 17 minutes tonight and Phillips and MHH are the only ones to play over 30 minutes. 11 different guys got PT in a hard fought game.

And, just like last year, Shy is our go to basket getter at crunch time. He delivered.

Yep, I agree about getting some ball and player movement earlier in the game. We looked much better in the 2nd half on both ends.

Watching the Long Beach State /North Texas game. Long Beach State plays a lot like UNCW but has more overall size. Very active hands on defense, likes to press, and uses a lot of ISO in the half court. May be a really tough game if that's who we get in the championship. They rotate in a 6'10 and 6'11" guy in the middle that would be prototype fives for Siddle.

They have implemented a very aggressive zone as well.

North Texas playing them tight.

North Texas is LEGIT! They are the best team I’ve seen thus far. Hawks will be 7-8 point dogs in all likelihood.

Never count out these Hawks however!
