I'd like to think so, but there's a big red obstacle in our way that will probably prevent it from being us. They'd take us if we were the only viable option, but as you just pointed out...there are others.

There is no other options in the east bro other than UTC. Blocking EKU would have to take KSU, WKU, MTSU, FIU, JSU, NMSU, SHSU, LA Tech, LU, and UPEP to all say "No" and that will not happen. I know KSU, SHSU, JSU, and LU would say "Yes"

I guess Matt Brown didn't know what he was talking about on that one. LOL.

Nobody's "Triggered". lol I said the same thing before KSU even got invited to C-USA that the ASUN move to the FBS was not going to happen due to the reasons I mentioned. I do not have a reason to be "Triggered" as mentioned, KSU is still in the ASUN until 2024.

The ASUN is not moving to FBS, the WAC is (eventually). Also, there will be no ASUN Football in 2023.

At the time in which I made the statement the ASUN goal was to move to the FBS. KSU will be in the ASUN for all sports until 2024. The WAC ASUN is not official and I don't even think KSU will be able to win the conference due to the number of scholarships

He contradicts himself all the time. Have you read what the president of West Kentucky said regarding why KSU was chosen over EKU? The schools in the conference would have to vote on who gets in or not.

I couldn’t care less. I just find it funny when certain posters say he’s absolutely right on everything until it doesn’t fit their narrative. Then it’s, “he’s wrong, did you read this!?” Haha.

I’m not referring to you.

I do too, but Matt Brown gets some stuff right but alot of stuff wrong. Sometimes I think he puts information out there for content for his subs.

I enjoy his reporting. I don’t think he’s said anything that’s not obvious about this situation either. But, I’m also not trying to spin his words into a narrative like some.

It’s just fun to see how it all plays out. College football realignment is the Wild West these days! Lol

Not triggered-- Just pointing out major obstacles that stand in the way.

-- lack of schools with adequate budget and if you have not noticed the ECONOMY stinks right now--this affects athletic departments and donations and GOV. spending

--as pointed out above some schools will be chosen for FBS before this even happens; you must have EIGHT who are willing and able to afford FBS

-- word is the D1 transformation committee will pass a few things that will increase costs significantly

--MORE could be listed

Did you sit up all night making these lists? Lol.

No. Not at all. There are SO MANY reasons WACSUN FBS can't happen that these facts are simple to list. By the way by looking at the posts here-- MANY others agree.

Quote:I don't think it is crazy, I just don't think it will happen. I think some of the ASUN schools within 5 years will get invited to other FBS conferences due to the fact that those conferences are all ready established in the FBS and they received CFP money.

How do I make this sound crazy?

I probably overstated that. I think we largely agree. I just think this is a reasonable avenue to pursue until we have some assurance that we have another one. The worst thing that can happen is that we end up with what I think is going to be a pretty good FCS conference. Maybe the third or fourth best overall with the current lineup.

Those schools might be a "yes" for us if left to their own devices, but conference politics are funny, and often members will honor the wishes of other members unless they simply can't afford to. I mean, word was that UCA was the other serious consideration when they took KSU, so I'm definitely not convinced we're "next" by any stretch. We probably should be, but I've learned to stop expecting what "should" happen.

This is miss quoted. UCA AD said that UCA only had preliminary discussions with C-USA. AD's and presidents of the schools that make up C-USA voted unanimously to add KSU. KSU has been in talks with C-USA since Dec of 2021. C-USA officials were impress with KSU when they took the campus visited in Aug of this year.

It may be misquoted, but the unanimous vote in and of itself means nothing. These types of votes are nearly always that way. Conferences hash it out off the record and then vote in unison for appearances. With that having been said, it would be at least a little surprising to me if they felt UCA is actually a better add than EKU.

As another example, in my life as a Louisville fan I'm aware that Miami pulled out all the stops to attempt to not add Louisville to the ACC, but they ultimately officially voted for them. That's just how this stuff goes.

The point is from what reporters said is that C-USA had KSU at the top of the list far as a tenth team and C-USA officials were impress with KSU when they came to the campus. Conversations with UCA were preliminary and conversations regarding EKU went farther to the presentation stage. This is the reason why EKU and Tarletion State presented at CUSA's basketball torment.

That much is believable, and I was aware that those presentations were happening even before they actually took place. I certainly wouldn't be mad if C-USA went to twelve and EKU/Tarleton were the pair.

Keep in mind jonsey there was running around pissed at the world holler the sky was falling up unto the week KSU was invited.

Location is entirely in ekus favor.
You tell us about facilities has EKU prepared itself to be chosen? Jax St had the same problems EKU faces and we suffer through the same anxieties over this same issue. The last time around EKU had beat us out of a spot in the sbc that we neither got.
We've been building and remodeling buildings/facilities for over 10 years all over campus academic, residence halls, recreation, and athletic. And still more in the works. Yet we were still surprised we were chosen.

CUSA will likely go to twelve with no movement. With likely realignment right around the corner the odds are even greater.
It stinks to wait though. I get the frustration and have to say KSU didn't have to suffer.
