RE: @Game Week: CMU
If EMU wins the Potato (or whatever) Bowl and finishes 9-4, does Coach Creighton get snagged by a larger program? I think he does. It won’t be an elite level team (ie not Auburn or Wisconsin or such), but maybe one of the P5 bottom dweller schools (ie, Arizona St or worse). Such a school would love Creighton’s approach to building a program. And I am sure Creighton would love the significant increase in salary… just a thought.

That is a great question but I think his overall DI record would be a tough sell to a fanbase. Remember, a team with a really bad record would be the one looking for a new coach, I just don't see how hiring a coach, albeit a good, solid one, with perhaps an even worse record (at EMU) would fly. I think we're safe for awhile. That said, I remember Auburn hiring Iowa State coach Gene Chizik, who did not have a good record at ISU, Auburn fans were not happy and then he proceeded to win a national championship, with a little help from Cam Newton.

Ramirez has 3 sacks today. He might be leading D1 in that category.

Good points! Anything is possible, but his record since 2016 is 41-40, and he hasn't won the MAC! Compare him to Leipoid in a similar time frame! But, Leipolds success at Kansas actually can really help Creighton though! Maybe A CUSA school would be realistic! If he leaves, no one can blame him for bettering his family either!

McElwain didn't see it because he was one of the first ones in the locker room. Had a complete douchebag look on his face.

Creighton seemed to be pissed that his team took those penalties. He ripped the defense when they were on the sideline after they came off the field. At least he was trying to control and defuse the situation. McElwain...not so much.

CMU has always been comprised of thugs. I still remember how they behaved after losing to EMU in Genyk’s last game.

Exactly! I thought of CC when Kalen DeBoer got extended at Washington. Creighton has to be thinking that he deserves a shot at that kind of money and success. Part of me hopes he gets that chance but selfishly I would love for him to stay and retire from EMU.

I've been a CC fan and hope he stays but history has shown that he has a thing for turning programs around. I would love to see him stay as I think we will again be very good next year, but if we win a bowl game, he may get picked off by a lower tier P5 program. I say lower tier because he needs time to build similar to what he is dou g at EMU. He won't have a long runway at a top tier school but someone in the Sunbelt or PAC12 who can give him 5 years may do it. He would likely double his salary and he would leave Ypsi knowing he left it in a better place. Again, I hope he stays but we need to be prepared. All the best to CC in whatever direction he goes. It's been fun being a fan of the program.

Always thought he’d be a candidate if Iowa State opened, maybe even Cincinnati. Would Lyke take him at Pitt if Narduzzi decided to leave?

I don’t think there’s anything to worry about this season but maybe. Just depends on who moves on and who moves up.

RE: @Game Week: CMU
I hope everyone can enjoy this victory first before they cast CC to be the next coaching candidate at school X.

With that said, besides the personal foul penalties in the second half, this was my vote for the most complete game by the offense and defense. I don’t know what the stats were, but I thought we really dominated in the trenches. I believe we owe a lot to coach Neathery for our defensive success we had in the 2nd half of the season. Switching from the 4-2-5 to a man cover on the wideouts and focusing on stopping the run started paying dividends the past couple of games. Coach Neathery - well done! Excited to add back to the returning DL Alex Merrit and Mikey Haney. Losing Ramirez will be huge but we hopefully find someone to step up.

Congratulations Eagles on becoming the Michigan MAC and Co- West MAC Champions!! Hopefully there are T-Shirts forsale at the George Gervin Arena this Sunday!

Dear Friends,
Very nice win. It is always great to beat our rivals (although they won't admit it), especially since we beat them by twenty points, and maybe would have been more if we hadn't given them three straight pass interference calls on their last drive.

The game ended 6 hours ago. Wondering if the lines at the concession stands have gotten any shorter yet.

Seriously, that problem really needs to be fixed.

Nickle, I wasn’t going to mention anything negative about today but yes seriously EMU - Scott Wetherbe fix the concession issue. I actually left my seat, walked to my vehicle, drove to little Cesar on Washtenaw to pick up a pizza and drove back to the stadium and got to my seat with 1 minute before halftime ended. My buddy insisted on standing in the long, long, looooooooooooooong concession line and missed the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. This Must Be Fixed for Next Season!!

How about the little Caesar concession idiots just order more pizzas ahead of half time. I've waited in that line and asked them the same thing and they look very confused. LOL Weatherbee refuses to do anything

It's interesting that people on our page are wondering if Creighton will get a bigger coaching job. Meanwhile on the Toledo page their fans are calling for Candle to be fired and he just won (or at least backed in to) the West Championship.

Toledo fans are unbelievable. Yes, they have a good team, but they want UT to them top 25. They aren't
It might also stem from Jason Candle being paid what he does which I believe is the highest in the MAC

I loved the balance of the offense, and on defense I thought we were ready for their rush attack and played with an edge.

It will probably always be hard for me to not think back on this season and think about the end of that Toledo game, but that aside this was a great season and a very good team! 8-4, co-MAC-west champs, Michigan MAC champs, and we have the best overall record in the MAC-west. I know my feelings don't matter, but I do feel like we are the best team in the MAC-west right now, and with Ohio's QB out we'd have a great chance at winning it....but oh well. I have to say, it was great to see how Neathery and staff were able to adjust and the D really played great the second half the year. Hopefully we can top it all off with a bowl win in what would be one of the best Eastern seasons ever.

With all the guys we [should] have coming back, along with one of the best recruiting classes ever coming in, I think we should all have high hopes for next season, especially if we can figure out our quarterback situation.
I think the experience that Austin Smith got this season is going to pay big dividends next season.

I hope so! I thought Austin showed flashes of great potential, but I wasn't overly impressed with him as a passer. Hopefully with another offseason he can continue to get better and become a true duel-threat. My guess is either he takes a big step or a transfer comes in. I know some don't like the QB transfer game that Creighton seems to play, but you have to give him credit he has done a pretty good job (Glass, Wiegers, Bryant, Powell).
