Kent handles the Pilots of Portland while RedHawks are competitive in defeat in Athens, GA.

Kent looks good defensively and has a bunch of scorers. Not a whole lot of offensive sets or motion but enough 1 on 1 talent to make up for it against most teams.

Miami is playing very young right now. I like the direction Steele is going with his recruiting but doubt it will pay off much this year.

Right now 4 of the 8 guys playing for Miami are true Freshmen. We do have two Juniors who likely will start eventually out for awhile. Morgan Stafford had 12 vs Evansville before hyper extending his knee while Kamari Williams does not have enough hours to be eligible, probably back once first semester grades are in.

yeah, the PAC12 and the SWAC are doing that HBCU home n home challenge and the SWAC is showing that mid majors, even low majors, can win these games at home if P6 will play them. Good on the PAC12. Having name schools play real non conf road games across the D1 landscape is great for the game and has really declined in recent decades. Used to be far more common.

MAC not having a good week so far but 4 winnable games tonight and I think the CMU @ MInn game is a chance for a P6 upset Thursday and that OU-Michigan game Sunday could be interesting.

Flashes played at noon. 94-68 vs Ark-Pine Bluff. Foul fest. 51 fouls. PB had 30.

Toledo, hands down, looks like the best team in the MAC. Juniors/Seniors are key players in the top 7-8. Loads of experience down through sophomore class.

Like most MAC teams they'll likely get upset along the way in MAC play. But .... Highly Doubt this team folds down the stretch like in the recent past.

Cochran and Edu off the bench is something no other MAC teams have.

Miami, CMU and NIU all spanked.

Ball State got a 10 point road win at Omaha.

Drake hammers UB for another loss to the MVC.

Pono, please go to EMU - Oakland thread to read my thoughts about the game. Very alarming that EMU is not matching opponents intensity at the start of games, playing with lack of defensive fundamentals, lack of time management and lack of proper role designation on who is controlling the ball at the end of games.

EMU is young and has time to figure this out but it’s alarming to me that EMU is NOT matching opponent intensity with everything else I mentioned above.

EMU better figure this out quickly or we’re heading towards a 0.500 season at best.

I watched in person Toledo dismantle Oakland at Savage Hall. From my humble opinion, this is Toledo’s best team in years. Also admittedly I am so wrong about JT Shumate. He clearly is the best player in the MAC or top 5 in my humble opinion! He toyed with Oakland this past Wednesday and has so many scoring weapons in his arsenal that were magnificently unleashed on Oakland! Shumate made it look so effortlessly and operating so smoothly during the entire game. I believe hands down Toledo is the best team in the conference and is playing like a team that should be ranked 20-35 in the country. The MAC has some strong experienced teams at the top. Plenty of time for young teams to grow like EMU, WMU and CMU but Toledo is the team to beat!
