Haven't been on campus to a game in almost a decade. Any thoughts on getting tickets now vs Saturday when we roll up (at least 2, maybe upwards of 6)

Follow this link to a great deal. Kind of bummed I ponied up for expensive tickets in the nosebleeds because the prices were trending upward and now you can get better seats far cheaper:

Special ticket offer for the last two games. Tickets in the end zone/general admission for $16 each. Guess they aren’t expecting students claiming all 8,000 tickets allotted to them. Email says you get one ticket for each game for $32, but site looks to allow any number for either game at $16 each.

I hope you're right, hitting the road for Chapel Hill right after! I was really afraid we'd get like a 7:00 or 7:30 football game, that would've sucked.

You should some kind of Duke Club points for this kind of play call

Without looking I don't think we've come close to a three hour game and wouldn't count on one Saturday. Even when the clock hits 0:00 for those media timeouts, they drag it out longer. It's as if they're trying their best to hit 3.5 hours.

CC mentioned that TC will be 100% by Saturday. He said TC practiced today in full except when they let Barnett take the reps for QB run.

I thought this was interesting when I was listening to his press conference. Does this mean Barnett is now taking #2 reps?

So your numbers confirms home games (3:39) are taking much longer than road games (3:12), even the Norfolk game where time was run off the clock to speed it up took longer than the ODU game. Nothing like going to a review that takes 2+ minutes and then coming back for a play and going right back to a tv timeout.

To speed up the game, the NFL starts the clock on out of bounds plays once the ball is re-spotted. Is this done in college games? Another thing college does which prolongs the game is stopping the clock on first downs. The NFL and MLB have both recognized games are too long. I don't think the NCAA feels that way.

TXST was home. GASO was on the road. I think the Marshall game was so long because both QBs struggled to complete passes. Lots of clock stops.

You're right, my bad, home games still longer but not as lopsided as I indicated. Road games skewered by the GA. Southern game, 1 home game had game clock shortened.

I thought there were glowing reports about how he would contribute and we were lucky to get this quality transfer. A 3star recruit that lit up ECU spring ball and then transferred to us. We’ve heard about how we had depth issues at WR and then this guy hasn’t played. And what happened to reserve LB Seth Naotala that seemed to be a presence on special teams? Neither player has seen any action on the field this season, and both have already redshirted.

I was also wondering about Troy Lewis. Had high hopes for him. Figured with Reggie Brown out and apparently Maxwell James as well, he'd get his chance. We could use a receiver with some size. Maybe Holt Egan is killing it in practice? Would be a nice surprise, as he doesn't have much recruiting info on him.

Good for them. Has to be pretty rewarding to make the sheet this late in the season with meaningful games left on the schedule. Go Dukes.

I understand though, I stopped coming to Harrisonburg when I became a dad.

It's 100% about TV. I went to a lot of JMU games in the late 80s and early 90s, and we'd be on tv about once or twice a year. The non-televised games would last about 2:15, and the televised ones a little under 3 hours. (and that was when "televised" meant "Valley cable and Boone NC carried the game.")
