If I remember correctly, the most successful NFL Europe teams were in Germany back in those days.

I checked, because I had the same impression. Yup, Germans LOVED NFL football (in addition to David Hasselhoff)

If there's ever a World Cup for American Football, Germany would be the team from Europe that rivals the likes of Canada and Mexico for Siver Medals. It would take a while for them to rival the US, but of anywhere in the world to do it at some point (if ever), it's likely Germany or Austria.... Vienna is the next destination I'd promote NFL games. Vienna is just as much a football town as any in Germany.
