RE: Game Thread: JMU(5-3) at ODU(3-6) 11/12 1:00 PM Eastern
I think some have a higher opinion of certain aspects than we should. I guess really you could say most of us do, I think some have a higher opinion of our coaching than they should while I'd imagine those might think I have a higher opinion of our talent and most of our depth than I should.
I guess it all comes down to when JMU football is at its best I think we're really damn good and capable of beating anyone who is/was on our schedule. To the point we might be the best in the conference. But then our opinions vary on why we aren't at our best when we aren't. Cig said we didn't have the talent and depth to compete with Louisville and got physically dominated. I think that's a lame excuse for a horribly coached game, our offense went completely one dimensional and we still led late in the first half and were tied at halftime, of course the one dimensional play calling let Louisville wear us down. GS we were also poorly coached imo. Marshall kinda, but I don't think better coaching would've made a difference due to how incapable our backup QB is.
Some think the overall talent and depth is a bigger issue than I think it is. I think the coaching is a bigger issue than some think it is. There are some JMU fans that agree with me and some don't, I guess one way or the other we have fans overrating at least one aspect of our team. Maybe some other fans think all of us are overrating us when we're at our best. There is one area where no one is overrating us though, and that's depth at the QB position
We'll see how things shake out over the course of multiple seasons. Although I expect there'll still be disagreement on why we lose when we lose and even why we win when we win.

Agreed... in fact, even better than UVA/vpi. Now we have a rivalry!
