I am wondering about Branson, he has not played in the exhibition games.

Pretty resilient team there. Some ugly shooting most of the night, but PR hit the biggest shot when needed most. Impressed by the new post players. Coach Korn 3-0 on opening nights. Power 6 conference win on the road.

Harris with 38 minutes, seven players between 18 and 29 minutes. Smart would have had more except for foul trouble. Good to see that kind of balance of time.

I was surprised that we only had 8 guys play with one being a walk on (Gowins). Where was Eursher? The SEMO basketball team tweeted that Elkamil was also out last night so it sounds like maybe 3 guys who will get playing time were out last night (Branson, Barnes, & Elkamil)

To go on the road and get a W is big, especially with all the new guys on this team. They just need to keep working hard and good things will happen.

Phillip Russell and Chris Harris will shoot better in most games and we will eventually add Israel Barnes when he gets healthy and I believe he is a scorer. Smart will be a good scorer too when he is not in foul trouble. I liked that both Clark and Earley give us that toughness and rebounding around the basket and Earley seems to have some nice post moves underneath. Was worried about that physicality underneath with Patterson graduating. Larson has a unique skill package as he stretches the defense with his shooting but also looked to have potential to be a very good shot blocker as well. I thought Gowins was very calm and under control and played well for a walk on freshman. I guess they are still waiting on NCAA clearance for Idada but anxious to see him as well. Overall Korn seems to have a knack for getting guys to play together. Just watching you would think these guys had been together for longer. They also all seem to like each other and willing to play whatever role they are needed to play. I know it is just one game but that is one thing I have been impressed with the last two years is the team seems to want to play hard for Korn and each other and they seem to really like each other. Often when Coach Ray was here players seemed to be just trying to get their points late in games and players didn't seem to be having much fun a lot of the time.

Coach K stated that Gowins is a true point guard. Apparently, Gowins beat out Eursher for the backup point guard spot and we are fairly deep at shooting guard, so for Eursher it is probably just a depth thing.
